I'd had that seat plan that Mattyb44 has put up on a JFK-LHR flight for a while now, but having just checked again I've now been swapped to a 777. Balls.

unless they've put an extra loo for CW use, the experience is going to be much less 'premium' even than it was before...

Thanks. Sorry, I had assumed it would not yet be in your link, as it's new. Unless we've had 74S before?

I don't know about before (although I don't remember seeing 74S before), but the current entries are new. We have (as so often) TCX69 to thank for that information.

Unless these super Hi-J planes are going to be dedicated to specific routes how is BA going to know at T-355 what seat maps to load so premium passengers can choose their seats? They can't possibly know the schedule for each plane so far in advance.

No different to how they deal with the existing mid-J/high-J configurations.

What exactly do the "experts" have planned? Is it a new service routine? Or do you mean due to the larger cabin size, you will have to do a slightly reduced service?

It is interesting, because just adding 16 seats can be a lot more than just that, it's now managing basically 3 mini cabins and 1 large. I'm sure you will make it work though.

It's no different from any other sub-fleet. There will be more 86J 744s than 380s. There are two different variants of 70J aircraft. There are even more variants of 772s. And so on. Yet somehow, BA manages.

I'm curious as to whether there will be extra galley provision for the additional 16 meals? That's quite a lot of extra people to prepare and cook for in an already limited space.

We will all be working out of the same galley in the door 2 area, the plan is for there to be 6 bars trolleys in the cabin, we have just 2 now and 4 would be sufficient leaving the other two crewmembers time to take the meal orders and set up the galley.

Thanks. presumably that means that WT is all in one single cabin at the back.

I've never understood why BA haven't modified their service process on the Hi J 747 and the four class 777's so ALL four crew do the drinks round first - two from front either aisle, two from back either aisle, meet in the middle. Followed by all four crew members doing a meal order in the same manner. Everyone would get a drink quicker and have their meal order taken quicker too. This is how they do it when I fly Qantas in their J class cabin and it seems slicker and more efficient.
