I'd vote for Concorde to head up the BA fantasy fleet - I've only ever been on one in a museum and would have loved to have been travelling when it was still flying.

I'd also like to see some A340s in BA colours - in previous Star Alliance days I loved flying on the Swiss A343, and what's not to like about the Air Tahiti Nui A343!

As for Boeing... I haven't travelled on a B787 yet (but have a trip on one scheduled for early 2016...) so can't comment on that, but I do really like the B744... I've sat in just about every part of it (excepting WT+) and still love the noise of the engines spooling up for take off!

My favourite current BA aircraft has to be the A380. It's amazingly quiet and the storage space (in CW at least) is hugely better than the equivalent 777 CW cabin. So the A380 can remain in the fantasy fleet too!

So my line up would be:

Concorde
A380
B744 / 748
A340

and maybe a Gulfstream to do the GLA/EDI - LHR domestic connections

Yeah, plus I was in 1A which really gave it the 'private jet' feel.

Gotta put a word in for new 767s! I will be sad when they exit the fleet, meaning no more widebody SH/MH routes and no more sci-fi upward opening doors. I even quite like "old new" CW on the LH 767s and although I've never done economy on them, surely the 2-3-2 configuration isn't bad at all?

here's my fantasy fleet:

Concorde - enough said
748 - nose and UD
787 - for all non-748 routes (CW 2-3-2 or better)
767 - for "big plane" feel
321 midhaul CW - more of these for all B4
190 (with current seat config) - spacious and nice
757 - ideally with fixed CE cabin (2-2 a la F in the US)
318 - more of babybus even ex LHR or other airports

+1 to this! Did a Southampton to Scotland (forget where) return in a BA 145 several years ago and it was fantastic. On take off from Southampton the pilot held the brakes while powering up to max, suddenly released the brakes and we shot down the runway at some pace! Great fun!

In a fantasy world, I'd also like to see Boeing bring back a modern DC9. Maybe call it the 717-9. Always loved that plane and enjoyed flying the MD80 again recently out of DFW. The 2-3 seating layout is also great in economy.

Continuing the economy theme, I liked the a330/340 for their 2-4-2 layout in long haul so how about a few screamliners, a350s and 777s with maybe a 3-4-2 layout?

A380 for longhaul
777-300ER for longhaul and shorthaul
A330-300 for shorthaul (3 class).

All fitted with long haul products.

Not that any other airline(s) are doing this today...

A330s - purely because they are nostalgic for me. Whilst growing up back in Perth most QF PER-SYD/MEL flights were predominately operated by A330s and I love the quieter cabin compared to 777s

+1 for 135/145 actually. I do remember those (think it was MAN - IOM) and liked them.

Unfortunately the 748 seems not to be going anywhere (no pun intended) only 51 of the passanger varients have been ordered (along with 71 freighters). It is a real pity as the 747 looks so much nicer than the pug ugly A380.

An updated Concorde would be brilliant but I don't think the accountants would be in favour.

For my wish list, I would ask for smaller jets

Updated BAe 145
ERJ145
CRJ200
Bombardier CSeries
Embraer E-Jet

To run a high frequency high quality regional service between the main business cities across Europe.

I would agree with this.

A32x with new cabin is by far the most comfortable short haul aircraft
A350 (I have flown on QR in J) is superb and as quiet as the A380, nicer inside than the 777 by far
A380 can't be beat for sheer passenger comfort and space but BA CW needs a rework.

Concorde LH & SH, it was/is such a beautiful plane, I miss the twice daily roar over my house. It was even brilliant to fly on

At bit off topic but I'm intrigued to know how comfortable Concorde was to fly with regards to seating and leg space.

Pictures make the cabin looked cramped though i'm guessing on a trip of a lifetime this didn't register for most. Did anyone here fly it often? If so was it always a magical experience, or did regular passengers get jaded and critical in the same way we FTers do today?!

Keeping it slightly easy:
Concorde= Prestigious LH only (KJFK,KIAD)
A388= LH where possible and high load
A359= LH/SH
B77W= UK Dom but with LH products
B748= Lesiure LH
A320= SH where useless (EGKK)
A318= LCY services
ERJ's= LCY services

The seating was very comfortable in (IIRC) Connolly leather. Pitch was about what you get on WTP.

Yes it was a magical experience, food and drink were superb and those who travelled would invariably see one or more celebs on there, if they weren't one themselves of course.
