Congatulations all, the ba forum is a very engaging and entertaining forum, of which the ambassadors must take a lot of blame for ruining many a work hour! Good luck keeping us riff raff in order.....

Congratulations new ambassadors and a hearty thank you to the retiring and, of course, existing one.

Now, only if the UN ambassadors functioned as well as FT

Oh, it's very simple really: we open the door when guests ring and prepare the coffee, the mods do the cleaning and look after any kids!

Sorry to hear about dunk having gone off the radar. I sincerely hope that as Prospero says, he is ok and merely got bored with us and went to explore new horizons.

Congratulations to everyone! I'm thrilled to see that PETER01 has been selected for this role as he's perfect for it and a thoroughly nice person to boot. ^

Very much looking forward to receiving chocolates at the JER Do!

I will add my congratulations too......
I am still not quite sure what an ambassador does.

Hopefully a well earned rest for those recently departed from the role.

I came here looking to see if my name would show up in the list, but I didn't see it.

Congrats to those who wanted the role.

very re-assuring to know indeed. and though I wish him all the best in the "May endeavours", I do hope one can be an FT Ambassador and another animal of sorts.

and hear hear on that note.

Out of curiosity how are the ambassadors selected?

I thought everyone knew that?
that's what I suspected. At least young Calchas is now not stealing CWS' thunder!

They are the Flyertalk equivalent of an ASDA Greeter.
The role was developed to welcome people unfamiliar to the store (forum) and give them directions to where they can find the Harpic (answers to their questions).

They also do some behind the scenes work.

For the Americans and others familiar with Walmart, it's like the Walmart greeter position.

Elsewhere here, consider them the favored by the establishment-favored.

There was never any chance of that. He's far too quick.

Thanks HIDDY, it seems I missed a trick when I joined !

It is nice that I have met two of the current Ambassador line up at a FT do, so I feel I have been officially greeted. ^
