This thread gives the current catering options for the Galleries First Lounge (Flounge) in LHR Terminals 3 and 5. This lounge is open to BAEC Gold and oneworld Emerald card holders. Passengers flying BA on a First ticket can also use the Concorde Room. The catering supplier was changed on 2 May 2013 to BaxterStorey. Click here to see the former thread, which covered that turbulent period.

The T3 lounge is identical to T5 in terms of food and drink options. However there is no Concorde Room in T3 so from 18:30 hrs there is a pre-flight dining option for First travellers, see here for more details.

The current catering options in the First lounge can be found in the first post in the thread, or you can click here. Currently lounge menus are not always on display in the lounge, but this link may be your best bet to see the options.

Would the Honourable member for the Concorde Room be suggesting I do not tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth?

Last night there were some menus in Galleries First, but they were few and far between. I saw a couple of people asking staff for them.

CWS (CCR Hightables): I can't speak for the honourable member for CCR (Fireplace North), he is, after all, quite capable of speaking for himself. But today I have been to both T3 and T5 Flounges and there are menus to be had in both locations.

Having said that I can solve the mystery: the problem is that someone in their infinite wisdom decided to use the CCR menu covers, with the snazzy Concorde motif - in Flounge. So for starters they now look different. Moveover, far fewer of these menus are being collected at night than were set out at lunchtime. Quite what has been happening to them I will leave to the honourable members to speculate endlessly, at which they are so skilled in doing.

CWS very good! All meant is good taste. The T5 GF menus may be there now but they were definitely not there last weekend when I was there (as confirmed by others) and the staff member told me to reduce consumption was the reason why.

Whether the reason is true or not I doubt even you won't be privy to but the fact remains: bereft of menus.

To think Hon Members have been snatching those menus is quite ridiculous. They bring the whole house into disrepute. It's not what the public expect to hear and they should be ashamed of themselves.

Surely "Noble friend" not "honourable member" ??

Menu updated in post 1 of this thread.

Here is the Chicken Panang Curry, which while not the same as one would get in Panang, is nevertheless very good, with a good creamy mix of coconut and curry sauce.

I am in GF at the moment, and there are admittedly not many menus around. Knowing the drill I ordered the bacon cheeseburger without asking for a menu. Three people within 20 feet are now also eating burgers, having ordered by pointing!

I'm quite enjoying the monthly (?) change of quite exotic curries, none of which bare any resemblance to their name, but most of which are quite pleasant

I just wish BA (and most other airlines) would stop using what I call "lounge rice" - really fat and soggy rice grains which I've only ever had in airline lounges around the western world. Indian food should be served with something longer and thinner, like a basmati or anything oriental really.

Anyone know if we'll ever get some actual desserts back on the menu?

I agree. This iteration and the previous chicken curry thing (the name escapes me- I want to say caracel but I think that might be a wild cat; or something) are rather good.

Re: the rice. That is quite authentic - if you're in India. My husband ('Bombay' as he insists on still calling it born and bred) explained that all the decent stuff (Basmati etc) gets exported and so regular i.e cheap restaurants only have the fat stuff.

Menu has changed again. Not sure if it was today or not. Now there is a chicken in a cream sauce with pancetta (but was clearly lardons), broccoli and mashed potato. It's OK. Very salty. Served in a bowl for some reason. Still would prefer to see the salmon back.

From what I can see, the rest is the same though I didn't look too closely.

Still only (fairly low quality) ice-cream for dessert. That is a great pity.

Menus are here at present for breakfast.

Scrambled eggs- not even sure what they're made of today.
Food is luke warm even just after 5:30am.

Do wish they'd get a recent coffee machine as all the drinks suck. Had a nice mochacino in the first class lounge at Doncaster yesterday so it can be done.

I had the Eggs Benedict in the T3 F lounge yesterday morning and it was excellent. Sat in the dining room, it was a bit like being in the CCR but with a much better view!

Menus are back. I rather miss the old Flounge design.

I just had my first dinner at T5 GF for a long time and the food felt up to the standards of pre-Baxter Storey for the first time ever. The menu looked attractive and had a reasonable selection of dinners but the buffet also looked appealing (OMG, I know) so I went with that instead. I based my meal around a rather nice ham in a cream and dill sauce - I might critique it if I had it in a good restaurant, but more than good enough for a dinner in a lounge.
