With BA, a dummy booking tells me it's 60k avios and £170.

When I select a Qantas option it just tells me it can't be booked online, so I can't help with that one. Sorry!

Cannot remember the fees but last time I redeemed with QF you effectively buy the entire ticket with Avios giving a very poor exchange rate. DXB-LHR-DXB in Y then J was around 100,000 Avios and about £1000 for 2 passengers.

And I had to phone the Dubai call centre in order to book having met with the same message.

Looking up one way fares in F, ITA Matrix lists taxes and carrier fees as follows:

QF metal = £257.01
BA metal = £170.18

Went to Dubai on BA in December on 2 one way F Avios bookings. Albeit including a domestic MAN-LHR leg, fees & taxes were £363 outbound and £204 inbound
