A380 CW versus 777 First

Travelling to HKG in march and I currently have First seats on 777 both ways, which is nice. I have the option to switch to the A380 CW on the return leg (no First availability at the moment) and I'm pondering whether to give up the First benefits to fly on the A380 in CW as I've never had the opporunity before.

I really enjoy the Concorde Room and have this benefit on the outbound leg but is it worth saving a few avios giving up the CR on the return.

I'm sure you'll get lots of opinions on this one.

Given that I aim to sleep for pretty much the whole flight on the HKG-LHR sector, I'd opt for CW as the rest of the First experience would be wasted (unless I'm not paying!)

Depends completely on how important those extra Avios are to you I'd say.

Otherwise F every time for me

The A380 does not have attractive CW seats like the upper deck 747. The F seats on 777 are far superior to CW A380 seats, so is ambiance/food/wine/service (service is very slow on UD 380).
I do the HKG run quite often, including F 777 and CX A380, and there is a wide difference.

A380 CW versus 777 First

I wouldn't give up F on any aircraft in favour of CW on the A380. If you do, go for the main deck, as the upper deck CW on the A380 is cramped and crowded IMO. 777 F will be much more comfortable - and even if all you intend to do is sleep, I'd still go for F.

Another consideration for me is the lounge access, how does the First Options compare to the CCR.

On the database thread The Pier first is closed with The Wing being the option, is this still the case and how do it compare.

I'd stick with F all day long.

Stick with First on the 777, but move to the 380 if an F seat opens up. Apart from being a little quieter, CW on the 380 is really no different to CW on the 777.

Sounds like a plan. Thanks

But availability for the latter surely is extremely scarce
