New LHR European routes

British Airways has announced four new Mediterranean routes from Heathrow set to start in May 2015, as part of next year's summer schedule.

Olbia in Sardinia, Kos and Corfu in Greece, and Split in Croatia will be served from May 1 using Airbus A319 and A320 aircraft.

No other information at the moment.
Yes we do operate charters at the weekend but these new routes are scheduled services.

Good to hear of this, as someone who travels around that area a bit. However I'm a bit surprised that BA have added a third destination in Croatia, while it has no services to Serbia, Slovenia, Montenegro, FYROM or Bosnia. The size of the latter 3 states one can understand, but Serbia and Ljubljana could probably justify a few services by now. The population of Belgrade well exceeds ZAG, DBV and SPU combined.

I don't think many people go holidaying in Serbia.

Corfu is an awesome option

I would also like to see BEG, but I suppose there was a good reason why BA dropped the route in the first place (in 2010, I think?). That despite being one of the few short-haul routes still to have restrictive pricing.

While Croatia might be more leisure-driven, its currency is more stable, its demand more consistent and its airports probably easier to work with. BEG airport is so passenger-unfriendly that Wizzair recently reduced its services.

But Split is a good start

I've noticed that Vueling don't seem to be continuing their LHR experiment to LCG and BIO next summer, which is a shame as I wanted to go to BIO. Anyone know if that is official: I'm wondering if that's partly where these slots have come from.

Great to have a bigger network, but will these routes be served with the new seats where Club Europe has the same pitch as a standard seat on Ryanair?

And British Airways Euro traveler has the same size seat as Easyjet?

Yes I think all A319/A320/A321 aircraft at LHR will be refurbished. Some seats on the A319 will have 29" seat pitch, but otherwise all seats other than exit row or bulkhead will be 30".

Good to see new destinations. BA going after the passengers who would normally fly with embattled Monarch?

Olbia avios

This is great news. I see that flights to these new destinations can now be booked on the BA website. However, it doesn't look like there is any award availability for Olbia. Is this because it hasn't been loaded yet? Which avios band is Olbia likely to fall within?
