CCR / Galleries First lounge changes speculation
Corporate-wage-slave mentioned on this comment http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/23550022-post226.html
that there will be very big changes in the next 2 months to both CCR and GF. And that one change will be very well received, and the other one very controversial.
So, let's speculate, what will these changes be?
Let's hope the well received one will be LPGS in GF for good!
Or maybe better air conditioning at the terrace?
And the controversial will be, err, Elemis only for ticketed J/F pax?
2 hour timelimit for lounge use?

I am reminded when Her Majesty was required to make a speech to civic dignities in somewhere like Scünthorpe. Her advisers presented her with a speech which opened "I am very pleased to visit Scünthorpe again", she reached for her pen and crossed out the word "very". No cats were harmed in this posting.

I think footwear going to be made compulsory for GF. Welcomed by many, controversial to some.
I did actually get in trouble on a recent flight back from a beach in Thailand for not having any footwear for a flight into BKK, but I managed to acquire some flip flops locally and was fully clothed by the time I got back to LHR.

Utterly stupid and wild speculations:
Removal of self-service alcohol from the F lounge (controversial).
Introduction of self-service soft drinks and cold buffet in the CCR (well received).
A real horse with a lamp headdress in the CCR, not a statue (controversial - some do not like real horses!)
Removal of CCR access unless your next flight is in BA F (e.g. no more access when flying into LHR on BA F but connecting to CE etc - in which case it will be F lounge only) (controversial).
Removal of guesting rights from F passengers and CCR card holders for the CCR (controversial).
"Fines" of losing the CCR card / Gold card / OWE if someone (or his/her child) sticks his/her foot/feet on the table or chair. (well received, of course!).
The security lane in South Security that has looked like under construction for ages will turn into a CCR access only lane (well received but still looks like it is under construction and therefore continued comments about unsightly things).

is there anyway for those lounges to be merged together ? perhaps at the outdoor terrace area.. meaning one larger lounge to the GF standard and removal of the CCR with the special door for First class travelers and CCR 'door access' cards

Probably getting rid of the food as people obviously don't want any judging by the negative comments
Or GCHs can use the CCR regardless of their class of travel.
A cabana converted into a mini Louis Vuitton store
Muslim prayer area / women only section
Or a bit more serious, maybe restrictions on guesting or, as mentioned already, no kids in GF?
Can't see BA paying for a dedicated F security lane to the CCR.

Better champagne in Flounge?
Scrap overpriced fizzy wine and spend the money on decent food instead?
Open a smoking room?
Add a proper dining area (a la CCR) to the Flounge?
Ban children?
Draught English beer?
Roller disco?
