Thanks for initiating and organising this Jamier45 and I have voted as per the poll choice. I'll await to hear re further details but another FT Do, great ^

It's worth highlighting this Do on the Community Buzz Forum with a link where it is the protocol I believe to advertise all FT Do's and post something now to bring it to folks attention. @:-).........

Probably just a Pub/Restaurant with a half decent menu and something similar for the Saturday or an Italian/Steakhouse/Chinese. From my own experience of organising 2 EDI Do's previously you are better just to make a choice yourself and make that concrete as some FTr's can get too picky (a few are a hard lot to please ) when giving/offering a choice of venues.

Cheers

Pete

Shame my trip to North America has extended in to the new year. We've got quite a few members of the family working at the RAF there now. Hopefully something in the north will come up again!

I would echo PETER01's comments on the food. It is the company which makes a good Do so just pick somewhere and we will come!

Back to work tomorrow so the major planning will begin.

Is everyone happy with bar food on Friday night in Aberdeen then lunch on the Saturday around lossie and then if we can a distillery tour, follow by tea in Aberdeen, thinking Angus steakhouse or would people prefer Italian/Chinese? Then a few drinks on the evening.

Can have lunch in Aberdeen before people head home on the Sunday.

The Grill bar or Granite park are good Scottish places......

Appreciate your efforts, personally we can have a curry anywhere and if the Angus is part of the chain....... (!)

Do you have any thoughts about transport?

Transport from Aberdeen to Lossiemouth will be by train -scotrail- and for the transport to/from Elgin to lossie/findhorn/distillery will be minibus.

Around Aberdeen we each have a pair of legs able to be utilised

All sounds good to me. I haven't got any preference for food on Friday or Saturday night - I am not a fussy eater. On Friday it seems I would arrive at ABZ at 1920 so I can just join when I get there (about 2000?).

Distillery tour in Speyside sounds good for Saturday afternoon. There are plenty around there so I am sure we can find one to accommodate us. I have heard good things about Abelour, Glenfarclas, Strathisla, Glen Moray, or Glen Grant. The first three especially are supposed to be good tours.

There is also a cooperage nearby which accepts visitors. As a big whisky drinker this would be of interest to me, but probably not to many others? Possibly may work as an afternoon combination with a distillery tour?

Would be great to catch up, hope this DO goes ahead ^

I've voted for Nov. 28th Weekend personally.
If the referendum had gone another way last weekend we could all have been queueing at the wall with our passports!

When will the date be confirmed? I'm getting requests to travel again during the periods under vote and will need to confirm with them very shortly. Trying to avoid guessing the wrong date and missing the DO.

We (my beloved and I) are not able to be involved in any of the daytime touristy activities, but we'll join the group for the evening in the pub (or wherever).
