Excited to follow you on the adventure
Sadly, although Mr Z enjoys the benefit of a Silver Card thanks to my avid reading of FT, there is no way I could persuade him to take on a TP run of this magnitude.... Unless of course, there were 2 weeks on a beach in Maui in the middle!!
Thanks for sharing your trip

Crikey, I know that Seaside Hotel in Maui, it's - er - quite basic! I was there a month ago. But it's not unpleasant. Wholefoods are an easy walk away, thankfully. There's a chemist/drugstore open until very late just over the main road and they have cold drinks / alcohol for sale. [Just don't call it the Beach Hotel, that's somewhere else].
The taxi driver won't enjoy taking you there, it's too close to the airport. So either give a fat tip or take the bus. I paid USD15 and it shut him up at least, it's a USD9 fare on the meter.
You have rather a long day on the way back. Good luck!

Looking forward to hearing the updates ^
If you have a moment, there's two questions which I have:
1) Roughly what's the cost? Or, if it's for fun rather than miles or tier points, you're free to tell me to mind my own business . Just wondering what I should be aiming for.
2) You seem to check out on the 3rd and then have no beds booked until your own one in Glasgow on the 5th. Are there just some hotels you haven't mentioned?
Best of luck, and enjoy!

1) I paid Ł1,331 for a very similar routing, giving around 48,000 Avios and 1,200 tier points.
2) We leave Maui on the 3rd and will be on an overnight flight to LAX, so no need for a bed. From there we take the A321 to JFK. It's a daytime flight, but after the nasty F seats across the Pacific, the beds on the JFK flight will be a welcome sight! Flight back from JFK to London is also overnight, so no hotel required.

Seems like the check in to the hotel is on the 2nd and the check-out is on the 3rd.
AA14 and BA112 are both overnight flights, BA112 will have a flat bed as well and only takes off 17 hours after the departure from Hawaii, so is almost a daytime flight. In effect it's 24 hours of flying with an 11 hour time difference.

That's a nice little weekend getaway.
Although the connection through DFW means less TPs, the 763 domestic F to OGG is another world of comfort than the 757 on the return.
Happy travel! Eagerly waiting for your updates.

I'd get a car at OGG for the day. Check out Paia about seven miles down the road which is a great little village. Eat in the Paia Flatbread Co and visit Charley's in the evening - you might see Willie Nelson play! If you're more adventurous (and touristy) you can get to Lahaona which is also nice.
