The new British Airways app - beta launch
(Update - please note that we're not taking any more applications for the beta. Thanks to all those who contacted us).
You may have noticed that it's been a while since I've been back to the board with information and updates about the BA apps. That's because we've been working behind the scenes on a complete rebuild and redesign of both the iPhone and Android apps. There will be a lot of changes and improvements coming very soon.
That rebuild process is nearly finished, it's been through thorough testing and we have apps that are 95% complete. At this last stage we want to give you the opportunity to try them out for yourselves before we release them to the app stores. With that in mind, we're launching beta versions of the apps.
Anyone who is part of the beta programme will be able to download the new BA app ahead of its appearance in the app store and will have the opportunity to give us direct feedback. We can't overestimate how useful feedback from customers is to us - it really helps us build up the list of improvements and enhancements that are the ones you want us to focus on in the future. All we'll be asking is that you keep details of the new apps confidential while the beta process is running.
If you want to be part of the beta, please PM me with the following:
If you're accepted to the beta, we'll send you further information on how to download the beta app on your phone. This is likely to be mid next week.
Feel free to ask any further questions - but please note that I can't post anything about upcoming functionality just yet.

I'll be mostly offline for a few days so won't be able to answer any immediate questions from now - but I will check in as often as I can and also give you an update on the timing of the beta next week.
In the meantime - thanks for all the PMs - and keep them coming!
