The current app will display boarding pass in the pre-passbook style.

Welcome to Flyertalk markyboy248
Well as first contributions go, that is the absolute master of conciseness. Welcome nevertheless, and with considerable more words from me by way of reply, welcome to Flyertalk markyboy248 and to the BA forum. It's great to see you here, and it would be great to see more of you (mainly because it would be difficult to see less!).

Is the new app the same app id? That is will we be able to have the old one installed at the same time?
It would be nice to give some ideas of at least some of the features people are asking for that will and won't be in the new version. Will we be able to view and change seats? Request upgrades? Make flight changes? Will it help with IRROPS?

I suspect this will be a typical BA "enhancement". Lots of glitter hiding a regression.
A true improvement would be a feature to automatically flag UUA availability on a flight already booked, pop it up as an alert, with a one-button press to grab it.
I suspect this will be like the new seat maps, loss of functionality hidden in a new "appy" design.
Hoping I'm proven wrong, as I like the current app - it's functional. Could be better, but could just as easily be so much worse.
