Problem booking QR redemptions on BA.com

Problem booking QR redemptions on BA.com
Every time I search for QR redemptions, I see redemption availability but BA.com is unable to quote Avios rate - is this a known problem? Don't want to have to call and be charged a fee for booking by phone. Any way to get around this?

Been like that since they became avaiable I think. Even when you call they can't always confirm there and then.
