Early boozing

Hi all.
So in the F lounge since 10ish about to jump on a flight to Geneva, sitting with my gin tonic and just realized I'm the only one in the lounge drinking! That i've seen anyway!

Is there a time where you would no way have a drink for a real early flight?
Whats the earliest you've had a couple?

P.S. Not an alcoholic, just curious haha

If I'm at an airport, I'm having a drink with my breakfast, no matter how early in the day! I think the earliest so far was a pint of Fosters at MAN at about 6am, although in this case I did roll in straight from my leaving do when I left my last job 6 years ago.

It's always struck me as interesting that some drinks at breakfast are more "socially acceptable" than others - sitting with a bucks fizz/mimosa/bloody mary doesn't seem as odd (to me at least!) as sitting with a pint or a glass of wine...

G&T on the other? Definitely strange!! ;-)

The airport is the only place in the world where you can have a drink before 800am and not look out of place. There were plenty of rose champagnes going round at 545am when I was there this morning.

Airports are probably the only places that I would drink at any time of the day. Mostly because I'm a nervous flyer and a drink before the flight helps. I agree with Just The One as well though that some drinks are more socially acceptable than others early in the day but my thoughts are that it all goes out of the window in an airport. Plus... The sun never sets on the British Empire, right?

If the trip is leisure - bubbles with breakfast is fine.

I think that a drink is perfectly acceptable whenever you feel like it. However on the subject of airport drinking I've noticed myself drinking less and less in the lounge these days. Last time I chose to have a peppermint tea before a LH night flight. Perhaps the novelty of unlimited booze has finally worn off, or even worse, I'm becoming more responsible. ..

Nope - none whatsoever! If I want a drink, I have a drink. I couldn't care less about those around me (not in a raving drunk noisy kind of way!)

I'm more likely to have a drink after a long days work but have had a few very early ones when traveling more recreationally or before early long hauls.

I normally stick to the PM (12:01 and onwards) rule before drinking alcohol. However if I am in an airport lounge I just pretend to myself I am jet-lagged and on another timezone.
