MMB/Expertflyer Aircraft Codes:
320 = Airbus A320 without Sharklets
32A = Airbus A320 with Sharklets
32N = Airbus A320neo

Airbus A320 Seating Guide

The following elevation diagrams of the A320 CEO (type 32G) cabin show the relationship between seats and windows. Note, while the elevations show the arrangement of the DEF seats, the ABC side is effectively a mirror of what you can see here.

The LGW fleet also have a similar layout on the starboard (DEF) side forward of the overwing exits but on the LGW aircraft the row numbers start at 2. Other vital statistics are also included.

Here are the corresponding cabin elevations of the A320 NEO (type 32N). As with the CEO, the elevations show the arrangement of the DEF seats with the ABC side effectively a mirror of what you can see here.

See the first post in this thread for current seat maps, details, and aircraft codes BA use internally to distinguish the different configurations.

Exit Rows 12 and 13

Hi all,

I've noticed something strange on my upcoming NAP-LGW flight in December, and after scanning this thread, still have no answer to. My flight is designated to be operated by an A320, but the exit rows are Row 12 and 13 Is this an indication of the future configuration of the incoming leased LGW A320s?

No, it is just because there is an extra half row at the front of some LGW 320s as some of their 320s are not having a wardrobe at the very front.

So this makes row 1ABC, push all the other rows up one number.
So what would be row 1 on most 320s is now row 2 on these, etc. etc.

In CE: Row 1. In ET, which ever is the emergency exit, which you won't find out for sure until 2-3 days before departure.

In flightmapper.net the info is that all the LHR to NCL aircraft are changing to an Airbus 319 from 26th October. My BA seat map for the 29th is showing a 320. Is anyone aware of any changes for this week or has flightmapper got it wrong this time?

I don't know how often flightmapper is correct, given that BA often doesn't reveal in advance whether the actual aircraft type will be a 319, a 320 or a 321.

However, on 29 October the seat maps for LHR-NCL (which are now accurate because they're the edited seat maps) show the following aircraft planned for that day:-
BA1324 321
BA1326 320
BA1332 319
BA1334 319
BA1336 319
BA1338 320

Looking further forward at a random week in November, the timetable has a mixture of 319s and 320s.

So, as I say, I don't know whether flightmapper has often got it right in the past, but it certainly doesn't seem to be accurate this time.

Thank you Globaliser. I'll keep my exit row seats in that case (row 12 on the 320) as Row 1 had already gone when I logged in today

Hi,

I've still got a lot to learn, I know. My question is, roughly how far ahead of departure does the MMB show the actual aircraft code for the flight? not the '320' but the '20D' for example.

Thanks

72 hours very approximately, around London lunch time. It does vary, it can be close to 96 hours sometimes, or nearer the 60 hour time, but it isn't a precise point, it comes after Scheduling have allocated a particular aircraft to the flight. See also the previous posts from number 113 onwards.

maybe the cabin crew should read this thread!

On the journey back to GIB on saturday emergency seats were row 11 and 12 on the 320, yet twice they announced 10 and 11.

Shame really and did not exactly show a whole lot of confidence on average at best cabin crew that morning.....lets hope they get to know at least the emergency row exits rather than discrete pax telling them on arrival on the rock!

I'm confused by some of the tips in this thread, as there are so many slightly different configurations and it's not always clear what is being referred to. I am doing LHR-MUC in CE on an A320, 2 people, website shows Aircraft Type 20A. I can choose any available seats thanks to OneWorld status and have choices of: 1AC, all of row 2, 7DF, all of row 8. Is row 1 the best choice here? I am tall so legroom is of concern even for relatively short flights.
