Following up - can one of the Cabin Crew on here confirm - are Band 4 meals return catered, or are supplies picked up from the destination for the return flight?

I'm not cabin crew, but Band 4 meals are not return catered. Bands 1-3 are return catered.

Perfectly acceptable afternoon tea yesterday from ZRH-LHR. Lovely crew of 3 in CE dealing with 41 of us!! Did an admirable job. Addressed by name, top ups proactively offered. Impressed!

I'd read somewhere that catering on the long, long Gran Canaria flight from Heathrow and back was pretty average in Y - some wraps that are actually Gatwick catering for band 4 flights rather than Heathrow. So it proved. But not only that - on the return flight, we were told the white wine had run out on the flight out. The vodkas (and tonic) dried up early on the return flight too.
The couple sitting next to me had ordered gluten-free meals on both outbound and return flights but got nothing - no record apparently despite them having the paperword to prove it. The crew apologised and said that this was because the flight was a Gatwick-style service! So if you fly from Gatwick, you don't get the option to have gluten or other specialist meals? Very strange.
Oh, and then the water in the loos ran out and we had to wash our hands in Highland Spring. Which seemed a bit extravagant.
The whole return flight had the air of a sub-standard Ryanair adventure and certainly not what I expect of BA.
BTW, the flight was rammed and CE very full. So I suspect these flights will continue. The crew seemed to think they'd be moving to Gatwick, though.

Had the nice prawn nicoise salad again tonight on the LHR-GVA. It is very tasty, especially with the wee dressing on top which also comes on the tray. And the crumble dessert is great too.
Nice crew. The lady working CE was very pleasant. Didn't overly go out of her way but was very kind when asking for more drinks etc.

The salad looks really nice, but I wish people would stop calling any random salad (good or bad) 'Nicoise'. This does not look remotely like a salade nicoise making the label completely ridiculous. Patriotic rant over...

American offered a salade niçoise as a pre-arrival meal on International Flagship Service First Class flights to the United States in the 90s. They were wonderful, especially out of the ORY/CDG station!

Plainer and curried chicken, some black things that might have been mushroom pieces and a mixture of various things.
The pudding was a sort of black forest gateau with a couple of cherries in it.

Had a lovely Kedgeree SFML on my early morning trip to BCN yesterday. Best breakfast I've ever had in CE.

Actually it does have a fair few of the ingredients of a nicoise salad - I can see egg, green beans, salad leaves and red onion, with the prawns presumably substituting the tuna. No anchovy, potato or olive though, I concede

There were black olives underneath the greenery!
