Tesco and Avios
Tesco, the major UK supermarket chain, allows you to convert Tesco Clubcard (CC) points to Avios. The standard earning rate is 1 CC point per £1 spent in store. They convert to Avios in the ratio of 1 CC point to 2.4 Avios or 2.5 Virgin miles. Every quarter, your points are converted to coupons and mailed to you - they can then be converted via the CC website to Avios or Virgin miles. Typically, it takes 1-2 working days for a conversion to BA Avios to complete.

The key to rapidly earning large amounts of Avios is the regular bonus point offers where large amounts of points can be earned. The latest are listed below and discussed within this thread.

The last period for collecting Clubcard points finished on 16 October 2014.

The last day for collecting points in the current quarter is 21 January 2015
.

Topcashback (TCB)
A cashback generating site, that provides cashback if you go to a wide range of online retailers via their links. Uniquely amongst such sites, TCB allows up to £50 of cashback per year to be withdrawn to your Tesco Clubcard account, which could then be transferred to 12,000 Avios. As of the middle of May, most cashback can also be transferred directly to your Avios account 1p=1 Avios. http://www.topcashback.co.uk/

Looks like the 53.95 visas are going to get wacked.
Do the MOC work with them if you mix it with a but of shopping and 3V? It just says on the back it doesn't work with gift cards. It's the first time I've received these!

Yes (unless you get a cashier who scrutinises every bit of writing).

Ok thanks. I thought the computer may block it. I'll try for a young cashier then.

The younger ones tend to be the ones who may challenge.. best to go for an old biddy!

Anyone know if you can pay a speeding fine with 3V cards?

That's my strategy too. Only time I've been stopped was by a young cashier.

I must admit, i always pick younger ones. My strategy is, hand over club card, then get gift cards scanned, then a few grocery items, then very last, present the money off voucher.

How long to transfer to Avios

I set up a transfer online to both BA Avios and VS two weeks ago and nothing has happened - Tesco site says "being processed"

I know it says 28 days but previous transfers have been within a day or two.

What is normal currently?

I made a couple of transfers on two accounts last week, one new account which had not made a transfer before, and one old account.

Both posted to the BA accounts within 24-36 Hours.

Are they high value? may attract scrutiny... (mine were sub £50 each)

Presume all account details match?

So I call them whilst l'm logged in to my ClubCard account. And.... the call handler has completely different information on his screen from what I see!!! The vouchers are being "Processed" on my screen - they have been spent on his. Two transfers later and I'm still no wiser! They have reactivated them. Nutz

Yesterday I tried to book a flight with a saved Tesco MasterCard. Card rejected at MasterCard Approval. Call Tesco. Reason for rejection incorrect expiry day 12/15. It is correctly in the system as 07/16 and I have a screen shot to prove it.

No wonder they have trouble with their accounts!!!!
