The BA Board 2014 New Year Plans and Resolutions Thread - What's yours?

Looking ahead with just over a week until 2014 and having just recently reached the dizzy heights of Silver here are my New Year Plans and Resolutions:

Whether they all happen of course is a different matter!

1) Take Jnr P on BA to Florida in late 2014 for a 7 day Theme Park holiday ^
2) Travel on the BA 787 (in any class)
3) Travel in BA NF on the 747 or/and the A380 F and onwards to a TP run
4) Visit an elderly relative in Vancouver and go CW
5) Travel in JAL F (New Suite)
6) Fly on the AA 77W in J
7) Maximise Avios opportunities (as always )
8) Stop smoking (I'm a 6-8 a day man) , lose a little weight and get fitter.
9) Plan for my potential 'retirement' and a change of career in 37 months time (not that I am counting!)
10) Read more books
11) Maybe get a Dog!
12) Buy a new camera
13) Get a new hairstyle (I may go from a No.3 to a No.2 ....)
14) Do a bit more for Charity
15) See friends more often

Pete

Try and get on a BA A380 and use the Lcy JFK 318 service.
Sail up the Norwegian Coast.
That's enough for now!

Christ PETER01 - that is a LOT of resolutions......! I normally stick to (at most) one so that I don't disappoint myself at the end of the year!

I've never really had any problems in general going through transit or immigration other than a dire experience at the Canadian/US Border going into the States. A VERY rude agent but that's another story.

The drive from YVR to Whistler is very nice.

My BA related resolutions are...

Grow up and get married finally - Jan 14th in BGI. F natch.
BA 787 - hopefully YYZ for the weekend - when it's warmer!
Somehow use my 241 to SYD
Try US Airways for a TP run while on my West Coast adventure next year.
Get GOLD! at least once.
Guest someone in a lounge - I got asked last time I flew, but wasn't logged in so didn't see it

In no particular order...
  • Having obtained Bronze outbound - then Silver on the return leg this past year...looking forward to a year where Silver helps in some way or another - and hoping to retain Silver and if all goes my way...reach Gold.
  • Continue reading (lurking) & posting to either help someone or make someone smile (or both sometimes).
  • To figure out a way not to lose a companion voucher and not just take a useless trip to not lose it.
  • To try the BA A380.
  • To keep using BA UD whenever an option.
  • To figure out how many miles I need to build up to succeed with a 2-person Round the World trip that doesn't bust the wallet

Just my BA thoughts

Quite possible the RTW for 2 would be cheaper if paying cash and using your Avios for all your other flights. The RTW would get you enough TP's to keep status. Something to consider if that is your Avios collecting goal for 2014.

1) My resolution as always is to fly as little as possible and continue to give the impression on this forum that I know what I'm talking about.

2) To get my FT post count below 10....another tornado like the one we had a couple of weeks ago might help me achieve this more easily (no power for 2 days).

3) Would like to go to the Falklands (great Avios redemption) but the accommodation there is a wee bit pricey and due to the Lan schedules would mean having to stay at least a week. Not sure if it's worth it plus the purchasing restrictions of foreign currency in place here are dreadful.....I can't see the locals there taking pesos.
