Looking ahead with just over a week until 2014 and having just recently reached the dizzy heights of Silver here are my New Year Plans and Resolutions:
Whether they all happen of course is a different matter!
1) Take Jnr P on BA to Florida in late 2014 for a 7 day Theme Park holiday ^
2) Travel on the BA 787 (in any class)
3) Travel in BA NF on the 747 or/and the A380 F and onwards to a TP run
4) Visit an elderly relative in Vancouver and go CW
5) Travel in JAL F (New Suite)
6) Fly on the AA 77W in J
7) Maximise Avios opportunities (as always )
8) Stop smoking (I'm a 6-8 a day man) , lose a little weight and get fitter.
9) Plan for my potential 'retirement' and a change of career in 37 months time (not that I am counting!)
10) Read more books
11) Maybe get a Dog!
12) Buy a new camera
13) Get a new hairstyle (I may go from a No.3 to a No.2 ....)
14) Do a bit more for Charity
15) See friends more often
Pete

Mine is slightly unusual. I will not push myself to renew GGL, especially with personal money. I won't be able to do it forever as I approach returement anyway.

For me, a long awaited US holiday in F or CW in the second half of the year. I'm a mature student so currently most of my resources are diverted to studying, so for me a trip like that is a big deal. I have the Avios, just need to save the cash. To successfully continue my studies. To develop my voluntary work as a mentor to young people in care for a major children's charity - one of the best decisions I ever made. ^

Forget number 11 Peter.
My next door neighbour had that "moment of madness" and bought one "for the kids". To see him out at 7am every morning walking it (in all sorts of weather) makes me think to myself I made the right decision not to buy one 3 years ago. They also cost a fortune never mind the damage they do to the house in the early stages

My no. 1 priority for next year is to come out of the other end of a Super Bowl party weekend in NYC with 25 friends and still be a) alive b) in one piece. Most of them are flying DL Y (!) but fortunately my flatmate and I managed to secure BA F in both directions.

That did actually make me laugh, well done. Perhaps add it to your signature?

3) Would like to go to the Falklands (great Avios redemption) but the accommodation there is a wee bit pricey and due to the Lan schedules would mean having to stay at least a week. Not sure if it's worth it plus the purchasing restrictions of foreign currency in place here are dreadful.....I can't see the locals there taking pesos.
Having lived there for a year I can highly recommend it - seriously you can get a redemption?? Might well be one for me to try out and you definitely need a week out there!

Noting all the comments and maybe not such a good idea getting a Dog!
HIDDY, that made me laugh too.
Flexible preferences well done to you for that volunteer work.
Beano HK No comb over, EVER! My short hair keeps me looking like Bruce Willis
Also, (and for ThatT1Feeling) I still can't get that photo to post........

BA resolutions come somewhat down the list after the real world stuff, but I'd be happen to find the partner availability to places I'd like to go, when I'd like to go, so I finally get value from the coupla hundred K avios I have without having to hand over a ton of dosh to use them. After that I resolve to never collect another.
