Why have they taken my Avios? [Transactions from online shopping reversed]
Just been looking at BA.COM and noticed that my Avios balance had dropped
Two transactions from September have been taken back, but I have no clue as to why
17-Sep-12 10-Feb-13 Avios - Selfridges 0 -6,240
19-Sep-12 10-Feb-13 Avios - Currys 0 -148
Anybody else had this happen recently?

Same has happened to me...
The 30 Avios only credited a few days ago from John Lewis, and they have just been taken away again.
Odd...

I had this once with a printer I had bought from PC World - the points posted but were removed months afterwards for some reason (no returned goods).
I contacted BA and they asked for a copy of the receipt - which I still had but it had faded so much that reading the original was almost impossible, so they refused to re-add the points as the receipt copy was also of such poor quality.
So their systems seem to be a bit strange. If you have legible receipts I would think you could get them reinstated.

Just spoke to a very helpful chap on the Gold Line and he explained that there has been work over the weekend doing Avios adjustments as requested by various suppliers. It would seem that any transaction that has in some way been queried by the purchaser can result in the supplier clawing back the Avios. In my case the Selfridges transaction was for 6 bottles of vintage champagne, the vintage I was sent was 2003 and not 2002 as ordered. I kept the bottles of bubbly sent, but they did send me a rather nice bottle of whisky as compensation. However, "helpful BAEC chap" has asked me to fax in the receipt to them and they will endeavour to get the Avios back. Another great thing about on-line shopping - it is so much easier to keep receipts!

From Avios.com eStore......
Purchase made 04/12, points credited 11/01, withdrawn 11/02.
11/02/2013 John Lewis-29380051 - 29380051 -162
11/02/2013 John Lewis-29366105 - 29366105 -162
11/01/2013 John Lewis-28567701 162

Looks like a glitch to me.

Looks like I've been spared, so far, for pre Christmas purchases. I went through BAEC e-store.
Is this, in any way, just an avios.com issue? or are both the BAEC and avios.com e-stores affected?

From the posts above, I think that a number of the issues reported were on the BA eStore, not avios.com

This happened to me on the Virgin program - They just asked me to forward the order confirmation from the company (which I did) and the points were put back the next day.
