Not entirely sure I would use the term signature tea blend until I taste it myself.
Supposedly its good enough for F pax as well as Y pax
Still made by Twinnings at least
'British Airways (IAG) said it plans to introduce tea with with stronger flavor to serve aboard flights to make up for the muting effects of high altitudes on people’s sense of taste.
The carrier and Associated British Foods Plc (ABF)’s Twinings brand cooperated on the new blends, which will be offered in all cabin classes starting Feb. 1, the London-based airline said today in a statement. '
I haven't come across many threads complaining about the quality of tea on FT, but here you go.

I am not sure about this tea, but I think that there has been a significant 'negative enhancement' of the tea in GF. The old Twinning's in the black sachet was super IMHO, and had the advantage of being compacte nough that one could grab a decent handful to stuff in one's pocket, thus ensuring a good cuppa in the morning in some distant hotel.
The new red & white packaged tea bags contain something that produces a brew close to gnat's pee. Also, the bags are so bulky that even a few fill your pockets like a shop lifter at the Woolies' sweet counter.
Luckily, there still seem to be a supply of black packets in T3 GF.

I have recently been converted to 'Sterrenmix' tea which is a herbal mixture I came across in the Netherlands ......I think I might take a few bags along in case the new tea is poo !
'New Improved' always smacks of 'cheaper' ! I quite like the present tea, it is non offensive (unlike the coffee )
Perhaps those of you travelling from the 1st can let us know if the tea is OK, it is at present the only hot drink I find palatable on board.......

As a tea drinking person, this is one of my main irritation. Normally I bring my own tea bags, but if available on board, I find that the strong teas covers the "strange" taste of the onboard boiled water.
I think this is brilliant. Nice to see that BA are taking iniciative. No where does it mention that the other Twinning's Teas will be enhanced away. In fact that article says quite the contrary. Good real enhancement for those passengers travelling in WT, WT+, and ET as the current "BA Blend" can be quite weak. I welcome the Assam blend, and us people in steerage will now have a good quality tea.
Given what Twinings did to Earl Grey (replacing it with "The Earl Grey" which tastes of plastic lemon with a delicate hint of metal), the partnership doesn't fill me with confidence!
