My Blackberry batteries lately have a life expectancy of 4-6 weeks. I have received to usual lecture from our IT support guys about how to treat batteries, the BB device itself replaced, and in a last ditch attempt had the last dead battery checked out. It came back as having water/humidity damage.
This got me thinking that "death" usually occurs in the 12 hours after being on one of those Embraers in the overhead compartments. Some of you also may have noticed the small ice crystalls coming out of the overhead ventilation.
Connection or paranoia? Has anybody made a similar experience?
On your next flight how about keeping your Blackberry either a) in the seat pocket
At the moment I need one battery per 20 flights. If I were to start using seat pockets I would go up to one BB per 5 flights. Up in the overhead compartments it must go!
Anyway, when I did weekly returns from AMS-LCY throughout 2011 on the E190 and E170's, I didn't experience this problem regardless of where my phone was

Well, on the plus side, if you were to lose one BB per 5 flights you'd probably never notice battery problems
