First World Problem
Does anyone else hate it when one end of the string holding up your BA First pyjamas disappears into its hole, never to be seen again?
You end up with one really long bit of dangly string hanging down, quite embarrassing!
Or does nobody else wear them at home

Have you tried tying thread to a small paper clip or staple, threading it into the 'tunnel' to hook and release the cord?

This is in fact a carefully designed feature of the species Pyjama, sub-species BritishAirwaysPrima. It indicates the desire to hibernate, and should be seen as time to acquire new jimjams.
In the main species, Pyjama, it typically occurs after one winter heavy use, but can be earlier in sub-species such as CheapAndCheerful and FancyOnesYouLikeALot. In other species such as MIL-GaveMeTheseHaveToWear, it rarely occurs.
In the sub-species BritishAirwaysPrima, it occurs very fast. This unusual behaviour seems to be genetic, and indicates a desire for the owner to go away and sleep very high up in a pointy area for a while surrounded by British accents. Research has shown that the British accents need to be real (not on films), and the presence of red inhibits the restoration of the Pyjama.

If you don't need the draw string why not just pull it all the way out?
If you do pull it all the way out and attach a small safety pin to one end and thread it back through the waist.
Or just fly F again and get a new pair.

Hi,
I tie the end of the string into a small knot so the string does not disappear into its hole.
Regards
TBS

Yes that's what I do or I replace the cord with a piece of thin elastic rope. That holds them up to just below the armpits.
A knitting needle size 2 is a good tool to use to get the cord back through the hole.

I do - but the VS ones last longer and have pockets. Much better IMO.

I'm wearing a pair now - too much information - and they stay up fine and are comfortable, even with the cord problem - even more too much info.

Now the decorations are coming down, perhaps tie a Christmas bauble to each end of the cord to prevent this happening?

I suggest a bell. At least nurse would know where to find you if you started to wander out through the main door into the street.

I'm past caring what I look like in PJ's. They did come in very useful recently, when our 'en-suite' bathroom was a few paces down the corridor!

Good title!
Candidate for a mega-thread maybe?
There have been a few good ones recently to mention a few:
Chopsticks in F
JW red instead of Blue
Non greeting of Golds onboard
Microwaved eggs
Fburgers
Brand of water served onboard
etc etc etc

I share your grief, OP. There is nothing worse than being [supposedly] dressed and then finding something dangling. I have learned to manage these scenarios with patience and, dare I say, a little skill.
As others have said, tie a
large knot in it.
I did, and it worked for me
