A quick Cathay one i looked at:

TPE-HKG-CGK, I, 20775TWD (440) return, 360TPs, 1.22/TP

TPE is a decent location to start mileage runs from if you're Asia based.

Thanks for putting this thread together. It's really clean and very useful. ^

I've not been able to replicate the pricing of the JER-LGW-AMS TP run. I've used KVS and am choosing I-class availability on each leg. Am I doing something wrong?

Regards

I get that I fares out of San Juan or Hawaii are low priced, and that booking the mainland segments individually (e.g. LAX-MIA) is way more expensive. But what if you don't want to fly out to San Juan? Can you get a similar $/TP ratio flying out of BOS for instance?

...out of BOS to where?

Do you actually need to go somewhere and are looking to optimise the routing for max TPs? ...or are you just looking for cheap TPs?

Ok. I was looking multi-city JER-LGW-AMS. That seems to have been the problem.

Thanks

BOS-SJU via JFK & MIA generates 160 TP for c200. Might be possible to include MCO as well to get 220 TP for same price.

Hi guys - hope someone can guide me here.

I'm new to BA and trying to make status (silver) ASAP. Ill be in Houston in February and was looking at the DFW to SJU run mentioned in the first post but I get quotes well in excess of 1000USD for a club ticket (starting out in IAH).

I need about 260 TP and can only travel within the weekend - is there anything else I need to be looking at out of DFW/IAH?

I'm just looking for cheap TPs, no need to go anywhere.

As I stated above I'd like to stay on the mainland... so no SJU

Because the fare isn't from IAH, it's from DFW. For a random weekend in Feb I can see DFW-SJU-MIA-DFW for $790. Nets 240TPs, which isn't great, but with an economy hopper from IAH-DFW-IAH on the side, would net your 260TPs, at a cost of around $1050.

A better might be to hit the ORD-SJU fare at under 500 for 520TPs.

Economy positioning fare from IAH in economy would cost $250.

In a word, no,
Farecompare used to have a listing of 'UP fares for different airlines and destinations but they havent had it for a year or maybe two years by now, I dont know about others but I base my searches around the destinations that I remember from then.
the really cheap fares are usually out of mainland USA although there are a few like LAS/LAX -MCO/MIA that come up cheaper than others
Why is it you want to avoid SJU ?

Hi all, first post!

What are the other decent locations in Asia? I've got a couple of spare days in Osaka in Feb and could do with 330TPs.
