...Dont do that to me this early in the morning!
I thought for a moment that they were cancelling US to SJU routes, turns out its the intra caribbean flights they are cancelling.
Perhaps I need a second cup of coffee after that!

Mia-lax-mia aa 777

On a related point has anyone ever managed to book into the F cabin on this once-daily three-class operated with the long haul cabin. Despite being able to book into A (with availability) on any number of itins, I've never been able to get higher than I on this leg without a substantially higher re-price.

Just booked another TP run from LAS-SJU. Checked it in ITA Matrix and fine, went to put it into AA and it came up as 458. Changed the settings to "schedule" instead of "price", selected the flights and all is well.
Did come up with some error at the end about seats.

"We are experiencing technical difficulties with your seat assignment at this time. Please try again later"

Not sure if this is good or bad. Did tell me this after I'd paid.
Added: Seems fine. Went into AA and changed the seats from the 6F it had allocated me on every flight.

So now I've got an itinery of:
MAN-LHR (BA)
LHR-AMS (BA)
AMS-LHR (BA)
LHR-BOS (Ba)
BOS-SJU (JetBlue)
SJU-MIA-MCO-LAX-LAS (AA)
LAS-LAX-MCO-MIA-SJU (AA)
SJU-BOS (AA)
BOS-LHR (BA)

Not sure whether to add a LHR-MAN at the end just for the hell of it.

Would have been better if I hadn't booked a few things prior to booking my BA flights and then finding they wanted 902 each way in WT+ rather than the 384 the following week.

Yes.Booking SJU-MIA-LAX on AA.com on an instant upgrade books into F on the 3 class B777 MIA-LAX if you select the early morning flight.Booking MIA-LAX is priced much higher, and if you use the instant upgrade for this,it books into Business. There is no wifi on the B777,but the seats are ok.The icecream sunday they serve for desert is also not bad.^

Thank for that, Wozza2404! I retried it with the dates I'd looked at before, and I think I see now it was the choice of Premium Economy instead of Business that made all the difference. Now BRU-LHR-JFK-LAX-HNL-LAX-JFK-LHR-BRU is coming in at 1699 in business.

Are you looking on ITA, or on an airline website? If you're booking it, then don't book with BA online as it will book you into I fare bucket on the JFK-LAX and LAX-HNL routes and you'll receive fewer TPs.

I'm going to be in TPE for 3 weeks in May on vacation and need a further 320 tier points to move to Gold.

Any good ideas for a tier point run from TPE? I'm planning on taking a side trip to somewhere else in Asia for a few days so good opportunity to get some tier points

Can anyone get the EU-HNL fare to price with a stopover of more than 24 hours in mainland USA?

I can't get anything on ITA without a +500 fare increase.

Edit: Never mind, found the fare rules. Stopovers not permitted.

You could do BRU-LHR-XXX as I7SALE and combine with XXX-HNL and HNL-LHR-BRU on I7SALE again. You'd be paying the cost of the one-way XXX-HNL as an additional amount, though that would be offset somewhat be the reduced cost from BRU to XXX. e.g. 2140 for BRU-LAX, stopover, LAX-HNL, HNL-BRU, but the LAX-HNL flight is in economy for that price. That's only about 40 more than your original price.

Not booked a HNL trip for a few years, am I being thick? I can't get anything like those prices on AA.com with a LUX/BRU start in March.

Make sure you include a Saturday night stay, and no stopovers. Don't force any connections, just ask for a simple return flight LUX/BRU-HNL.

Random dates. No idea if you can force BA rather than AA metal flights for the transatlatlantic segments?

Wouldn't fancy LAX-HNL in Economy, but it's something I can work with, thanks. Might see if the wife fancies a couple of nights in Vegas and then a trip to SJU instead...

Alternatively, just do it as an OJ (BRU-LAX, HNL-BRU), and book a one-way on DL in F, it seems a lot cheaper.

I'm doing TPE-HKG-CGK-HKG-TPE on CX for 360 TPs and ~ 500 at about 1.4 per TP. HKG-CGK is > 2,000 miles so nets 140 TPs.

All other > 2,000 miles sectors i've looked at from HKG are significantly more expensive, but my search was by no means exhaustive so YMMV.
