Club kitchen microwave

On a recent club world flight I noticed that there are no more hot items on offered for the club kitchen - really missed the covent garden soup! Just wondered have they decommissioned the microwaves?

The Wraps are to be served warm and are heated in the microwave.

They are also still used for making scrambled eggs for First.

And, at a cost to procure and install of over £30k each, I don't see them ripping them out any time soon...

I thought if they r not used then they will take it out - as I assume the maintenance and checks required will also cost £££

Thanks

But, they are still used.

Scrambled egg for First and the "Wrap" sandwiches are a hot item.

Please tell me you are joking.

I think I've only once had the scrambled eggs in First and I thought they were quite good, but that was a long time ago. I don't take F on night flights (did so once and didn't think it was worth it, even with miles) and deliberately avoid the early morning F flights so I can have my breakfast in the CCR and a proper lunch on board - the inability to do this in F is why I no longer take the first flight of the day to New York.

Before the microwave was installed, they were made in a foil tray in the oven.

Took a long time, and could go very dry and sometimes go green too.

In the microwave is a much better option.

How long has this been true for? I think it must have been at least five years ago that I had them - moist and Ffresh from the Ffrying plan, or so it seemed.

I don't know how long ago they installed the microwave.

Were done in the oven before that.

They use them on CX for eggs, as well as some other airlines...

There is a video kicking around somewhere of catering on CX and they show the equipment in the F galley, including a frying pan and skillet...
