Just wanted to say - having just got off the 149 to Beirut (in CW) - I have never, ever, ground or air, had a better steak. You could almost cut through it with the fork, yet it was amazingly cooked and deliciously delicious.
This wasn't a one off - last Thursday BEY-LHR, also CW, the lamb was truly perfect too. Yum.
Time for BA to install these ovens fleetwide.
(Oh, and for LTN Phobia, 'fresh' orange juice too!)
The seats continue to impress me, and so does the crew. A real step up from bmi.
Was feeling extremely dizzy on takeoff today (as if spiralling at high speed out of the sky) and the CSD or Eurofleet equivalent gave me some cold 'hot towels' and put the seat in bed mode, helped me get settled in etc and kept checking up on me during the whole flight, takeoff to landing, and gave me more of those towels for landing 'in case'.
Her colleague was perfect too. A happy, smiling bunch.
I definitely know why I fly BA.
Off to ba.com/welldone.

I find it's still a bit of a mix with the crews really.
Some of them like on our flight from TLV the other week were very avarage, and still thought they were opertaing a Euro flight (FA making the announcements referred to the cabins as ET and CE...), but I guess it will take some time, and according to an FA I spoke to recently not everyone operating the route have been fully trained yet but I'm not sure how true that is.
However our experience on the 167 yesterday was fantastic and as described by the OP.
CSD and FA doing CW were brilliant, service was excellent (more like F than CW) and always with a smile, no request was a problem for them, and my 4 year old was treated like royalty.
The general feel in the M/H CW cabin is far more intimate and relaxed than on the 777 that's for sure.

Just out of interest - are the majority of the crews on the ex-BMI 321's also ex-BMI crews or are they all mixed in with the BA crews now ?

No, they are a mix. It more likely not to be ex BMI because statistically there are less of them. A lot of the E/F crew are really enjoying doing these flights.

So pleased you have been having good flights on the 321 with our E/F crew.
The ovens are definitely better on the Airbus but it is also a different caterer catering the mid haul aircraft. The catering is done by Alpha catering out of LHR. Although down-route it will be the same as previously.
So not too sure if the improvement in the steaks is because it is Alpha not Gate Gourmet!
It will be interesting to see if when the 380 comes, with Airbus ovens, whether that will improve long-haul catering. Hopefully!

Long-haul routes are catered by Gate Gourmet and have been for many years.
Mid-haul routes are catered by Alpha.
Short-haul is catered by DHL.
DHL are a logistics caterer, they buy in food from other suppliers. They no longer use Norther Foods (which is now called Two Sisters not Northern Foods) they buy in from a range of suppliers hence the changes of snacks on the Short-haul network. The company that supplies the fresh meals and food to DHL is Do & Co.

I was told on a recent visit to DHL that they no longer use Two Sisters.
Food is not prepared by DHL, it is brought in from Do & Co and other suppliers, such as the Urban Eat Wraps.

And since we are talking about it, I do not find the urban wraps very good at all. By contrast, I do find the CE hot mains generally good and at times very good
