The bit that is hard to believe is "getting drunk on Malibu"

Do people like these two get banned from travelling BA in the future?

I have actually never read, heard or seen people get banned from airlines and not sure if its myth or not and whether these are things that get triggered for a ban.

I am not sure how a ban can be enforced after a time. After all, how would an airline recognise a passenger if they have a new passport, different payment card etc? All they would have to go on is a name and DOB.

Edit

Please don't take this that I don't agree with bans, I am only interested how a ban can be enforced, and yes the idea of removing passports is a great one.

Low-life like these should be banned from any future flights by all UK carriers so that others (passengers and crew) can enjoy their flight experience and not put them at risk.

I also hope that the courts slap a hefty fine on them to cushion the costs of the diversion and to send a strong message to others.

I hope they are made to pay for the cost of diversion and any other extra costs BA and passengers incur as a result of their inappropriate behaviour.

I also hope they get banned from flying. In fact they should also have their passports confiscated so as not to be an embarrassment to their country.

I wonder what it must feel like to wake up in a prison cell with the memory slowly coming back of how utterly you have f***ed up.

Then again, I rather not find out...

One would hope the passport gets confiscated while they are still in France.

Yes they do, as this high profile case from 5 years ago highlighted:

Not sure whether she has since been allowed back on board?

Oh, and happy NY to all FT'ers. Not been about much recently, and only manage the occasional glance at the board I'm afraid to say...

Will be interesting how their sentence compares to the drunk banker on the recent JFK-LCY flight that diverted to SNN.

I'm a FT lurker but just had to tell this story...

Last June while on my way to Johannesburg I had a drunk guy on the plan too.
During taxi to the take off strip somebody came out of the toilet smelling like cigarettes, few moments later the whole area smelled like cigarettes.

The drunk guy was on his honeymoon and had to have a smoke before take off seems...

They had to turn back to gate, Kick the couple out of the plane, find their baggage and remove it from the plane before we could take off.
That took close to an hour.

I wonder if he got divorced soon after

Didn't Liam Gallagher get banned from an airline (Qantas?) for unacceptable behavior once?

Edit: It was CX...
