Nothing odd about this. I is the norm for discounted Club ex-EU and R for the same ex-LON. Fare rules for I ex-AMS for instance are more flexible than UK R or I, permitting changes for a fee.

I don't think the comparison makes sense: as yet, the UK sale does not include CW. If it is added later, then prices will be dropped, and as was the case with the August sale, prices ex-UK will be largely comparable - often cheaper than ex-other-European-gateways - but with comparatively less flexible conditions. Right now, people are comparing an ex-AMS sale price to an ex-LHR non-sale price which makes as little sense as it would have to compare ex-AMS non sale price to ex-LHR sale price in Y or W a few days ago.
Ooohhhhh - ex-FRA to JFK via LCY is working out at £1,300 (including shareholder discount, if it works). 500 TPs and a trip to NYC - I'll have to start negotiating with Mrs LA for a quick trip away leaving her at home with the children

Minor semantics, but would you call INCEU28 (AMS-JFK-AMS) a Sale fare?

No, that's a very good point - the sale fare is I7SALE but you are right that on AMS-JFK it actually is a bit more expensive than the regular long advanced purchase! On other destinations (YUL, LAX, etc) it is cheaper though.
That fare sale looks like it's ex-BeNeLux and there are some real CW bargains.
The same is available on AA.com for BA metal with additional destinations, eg. BRU-HNL for €2038 (around GBP 1600). That can net you between 800 and 1200 TP depending on routings.
Anybody know if this will be extended for ex-Complete-EU or ex-UK ??
Now, BA, please do a sale ex-Germany, I need to buy two tickets for my mother and niece.
There are some summer sale fares out of Germany, e.g. IV7EUS
