-LCY: security took 22 minutes to clear, how does 15 minute check in function with that?
-departure delayed on board 45 minutes. Nothing offered to passengers
-LCY-SNN service, no linens not even a serviette? Silver ware placed directly on to tray table.
-SNN - this was the highlight of the trip, the pre clearance staff were refreshingly charming and a real delight.
-On Air service not functional
-catering, well it set a new low
-the seat, what an abomination! I would not recommend this product to anyone shorter than 5'10".
-JFK, all but 2 passengers had checked baggage. It took over 1:15 for it to arrive entirely negating the benefit of preclearance. BA had delivered the bags to the international carousel leaving them stuck with customs and no passengers to claim them. No BA ground staff to help and no way to get to them as if you did, you could not return to the baggage claim. The captain finally had to walk back into the terminal after a passenger told him to sort it out well into the lengthy wait. Only then did anything occur.
-Arrival at LCY to walking out the door at JFK= 11:54. Pretty unpleasant. At most I could have shaved 15 minutes off that by arriving LCY a little later.
Where and or what is the premium aspect of this 'service'?
An LHR nonstop in Club would have been FAR more pleasant.
If you read multiple other reviews your views seem to be in the minority. The service is and never has been marketed as identical to regular CW LHR service equivalents. The points you make are not ideal, but far from what I would describe as "shockingly poor".

It sounds like you were very unlucky with a few things BA didn't get right, and a few things LCY and JFK staff didn't get right. I went out on BA1 and came back on BA2 back in August this year and my experience was almost the opposite. LCY security was very quick less than 5 minutes even with a swab of my ipad, and on arrival at JFK the bags were out in less than 10 minutes.
I am 5ft 8 and found the seat very comfortable. I didn't try to sleep going out but did coming back overnight. Also the chap next to me who was around 5ft 11 seemed to sleep well on the inbound flight. i think the only issue I had sleeping was more the noise as it is a noisier cabin due to the proximity of the engines - nothing obviously to get around this as it is only a small aircraft. I suspect UD of a 747 may be better in terms of less noise than the A318 although I have yet to try that out.
Why did you find the seat an abomination? Was it just length?

I'm 5 ft 7 and I had no problem sleeping on the CWLCY. My wife is even shorter and also had no issues - she hates slopey seats as she slides down but she had no problem on the CWLCY service

If the seat is at all sloppy, there is a tendency to slide down. It's happened to me on AY flights. My wife won't do QF slopes for this reason. It got her down so much from LAX - AKL a few years ago that she tried unsuccessfully to sleep on the floor. CWLCY was completely flat to my view when I flew on it and the seats are quite grippy and neither of us slid at all.

Thanks for the mini report. My comments in bold below:

-the seat, what an abomination! Again, what was wrong with it?
There is no fast track security at LCY and the issues there can be worse than T5 this is just par for the course at LCY.
Flights do get delayed it is likely that the cause was a late arriving crew or minor maintenance issue.
I love the seat it is infinitely better than a regular CW seat (which I hate) the only annoying thing is the bulky headrest but I have never found it a significant issue at 6ft tall. The seat is flatter than CW, it is wider and the footrest doesn't collapse.
Food is so so but careful selection avoids disappointment ultimately food is bog standard CW fare.
I think the product is very strong. I have taken 8 CWLCY flights this year and it is my preferred option for flying to the US even if this means connections.

Really?
Regular CW has far more privacy than CWLCY seats and the CWLCY middle armrest is quite narrow. Comparing CWLCY to an UD window seat (with the bins), I'll have the UD CW seat any day.
Don't understand your comment about width either, both are 20".

Still stuck in security
