OT: Almost makes me want to fly VS...(Virgin 2013 TV advert)

....but not quite.

Good try, though.

There's a certain smugness that makes me not want to fly them.

Hmm.

Could say they took inspiration from BA...

Is it just me or does the pilot at 1:20 onwards look like he's at a bar making his paper plane? This is the last place I'd want my pilot to look like he was just as he says time to fly, sort of gives the wrong impression to me.

The reality is so far from this it's laughable. The BA ad was pushing the same idea but VS have just taken the joke too far. The VS cabin crew are no more special than any other, indeed given the poor rates of pay coupled with restricted network, they struggle to hang onto good people!

I actually did quite like the advert. Very clever. It would cost them a small fortune though to show a 2 minute advert.. I suppose there's a trimmed version for tv

However, it is VS, and I wouldn't fly with them unless they are either much cheaper than the OW alternative (which they aren't very often) or the fly direct to somewhere that BA/OW don't.

Nice try SRB.

Nice video, although I'd still choose BA over VS.

Off-topic, but my favourite airline promotional video is this one from Etihad. I think it's amazing:

I don't think it would work well as an advert. It's really slow moving and...just...somewhat obnoxious.

Contrast to the BA ad, which is 1.5 minutes but I feel it is much more engaging. Even then it is a bit long for TV advertising.

Also the BA ad manages to be completely humble.

You must be mistaken. It's an advert for VS and BA is always better:. At everything. No way could anyone enjoy that video if its made by VS because they are smug. And their Business product is just rubbish (even though it regularly gets compared to BA F). The cabin crew just want to party and the flight crew are all drunk. It's VS, so it's all untrue, smoke and mirrors. And a man with a beard runs it, which says it all.

(I enjoyed it too BTW)

Special powers, special gifts??? Do not think cooking is one of their powers mind. Every piece of meat I had has been hopelessly overcooked. It reminds me of lee evans clip about parcel force
