No more 'from concentrated' orange juice problem in F

I am pleased to report, despite my suspicion that not many of you would be particularly interested in drinking orange juice in F, that the dodgy "from concentrate" orange juice problem in F appears to have been resolved.

I have not come across any "from concentrate" orange juice in the last 3 F sectors, and when I requested the "squeezed" ones they appeared promptly without any issues.

I am wondering if someone from BA has been monitoring my whinges on FT

If they are, whoever you are that fixed this, thank you so much. It has made my F experience much more pleasant.

You do realise "squeezed" isn't that much better don't you ?

You're drinking pasteurised, flavourless juice that has had its taste enhanced with a flavour concoction (chemicals derived from orange essences and oils) specific to the manufacturer (and yes, the pulp in "with bits" bottled juice isn't the pulp from the original orange either !).

How else do you think two bottles from the same brand randomly plucked off two different shelves in two different supermarkets taste the same ?

The 'squeezed' version tastes better to me, and therefore that is better

Does it mean that the orange juice has bits in it now?

There were, but they were very, very fine bits - almost like they had been squeezed and then put through a blender.

Curiously the bottles on the way back weren't commercially labelled (as in like when sold in supermarkets) so I suspect the ones on the return legs might have been 'freshly squeezed' as opposed to 'squeezed and bottled and processed'.

I'll have to give it a try on tomorrow's flight.

Bulk buy and labelling on the outer packaging perhaps ?

Kind of unlikely given where the flight was from, where that kind of things tend to happen less due to extremely commercial nature of the location.

It certainly tasted more than decent and better than the likes of Tropicana. In fact it tasted rather similar to an actual squeezed juice (as in done in front of you) from the area and definitely far, far better than the 'from concentrate' stuff they had been serving in F in the past.

This is true, they deliver a consistent product 12 months a year using frozen juice and orange oils.

However it still tastes better than the concentrated juice, so that's the point really.

In some countries there are orange juice machines in convenience stores that squeeze the juice while you watch.

That's the only way to go.

I have freshly squeezed orange juice every morning.

Depending on the season they are either deliciously sweet or pretty sour. My wife makes me drink it though as she says it's good for me.

I like bits in mine.

I am so rarely in F that I don't care but I am happy for those who fly it! Now, where is it coming to WTP?

Good news I hate 'from concentrate' orange juice. Would rather drink water.
