I hold a CW ticket (upper deck 60A booked!) on BA107, scheduled to arrive in DXB at 22:20. I plan to use the meet and greet service to avoid the scrum at immigration.
The hotel I am staying at (Millennium Plaza, Sheikh Zayed Rd) is on the metro's red line south west from the airport near to Emirates Towers Metro Station 2 and for a bit of adventure I should like to take the train.
My question: is it feasible to use the metro to reach my hotel at this time, or should I just take the standard taxi?
It's feasible and is at the right (near) end of SZR, so shouldn't take much more than 30 minutes, once at the station. But after a flight, I'd want to jump in a taxi, especially if I had much luggage.

My sense of adventure would be limited to taking a standard taxi (the cream coloured ones with the coloured tops) from the airport as opposed to the hotel's limo service
On second thoughts..... Naaaaaaaaaaah
When are you flying by the way? My BA107 next month arrives at 23:30!

Its perfectly feasible to take the metro & will only take 15-20 mins I should think. Then again the taxis are so cheap & plentiful , I would do that. You could venture onto the metro anytime the next day...in First ("Gold Class"), of course..

Agreed. The Metro is quite snazzy but plenty of options for trying it out later, or even on the way back to the airport. You also generally have to walk a few blocks from the stations to get to where you want, and past midnight you might not want the hassle.

I would recommend a taxi, you will have a walk from the Metro. The side-walks in the city are a little in-consistent and you might find yourself dragging your cases along a sandy dust path.

Well I think £50 is silly for that service, and I also take the metro too. Indeed I have developed a list of hotels particularly convenient for the metro, and the Millennium Plaza is on it (there are a few better ones, however, such as the Crowne Plaza. Your hotel is a few minutes walk along from the mall). I don't take my kitchen sink with me, however. I'm still amazed that the metro is often empty, people are pretty much attached to their taxis in Dubai. So I'll be a lone voice commending the OP! However if you do have checked luggage and have a bit of a wait at Passports, then it's possible you'll be landside quite late on, and the system closes down at midnight - an hour later at their weekends - and gets rather slow in the final hour.

I suppose it depends on how you value your time, have you ever tried it?
As you say, there can be a bit of a queue for the immigration.
When you take into account the cost of a CW or F ticket, £50 for 3 of us or £17 per person is not really significant.
The long walk through the terminal is the last thing our little miss wants to do after being woken up at that time and I also need my nicotine quickly!!!
On one hand, I think it's a shame BA don't cut a deal with them (and other airports where this sort of thing is available) and offer it at the time of booking. On the other hand, if they did, it could become like the fast track security

There is not AFAIK
Happy to be proven wrong, but I've never seen one.

There is a so-called First & Business Class fast track line at immigration but it seemingly goes un-policed, so any Tom, Dick or Harry can (& does) get away with using it, rendering it a slow-ish track
Marhaba meet & greet is the way to go for visitors. And, no it doesn't cost a lot all things considered. I ALWAYS pay the fees for visitors as it cuts my waiting time let alone theirs!!

I can confirm this is still the case as of last week! A good 25 minutes to get through, I think.
I would be tempted to spend the £50 with little kids as it is also a Gatwick-style walk to passport control.
