I'm on the B747 in CW reasonably often ... Has anyone else frustrated by the way the water shoots out of the taps and gives you a hosing down, making it look to those in the cabin that you weren't quick enough, and those who follow you into the bathroom that you weren't accurate enough?
This is not the case on the B777 / A318 and I can't comment on the B767.
Am I being petty, or have I not worked out how to use the taps correctly...
Whilst it's an irritation, the lack of humidity always means you dry off quite quickly.
What I find worse is the soap dispenser that has the ability to shoot a streak of white creamy stuff at a random angle . I think this is more of an issue if you're first to use the lavs after take off as the pressure needs to equalise.
I think the problem is that the water pressure sometimes shoots the water out so fast it splashes out of the sink (all over your trousers or the floor).

I think this would be even more of an issue for the second person to use bathroom!!! lol

+1
I agree with the OP, (welcome to the BA board on FlyerTalk GayGourmet, by the way!) - the taps are terrible and the lack of any depth in the sinks mean that it goes straight onto your hands about half an inch from the tap, and it just sheet washes off in whatever direction. It's the same in WT all the way to First. Can't remember what it is like on the UD. Been a while since I was up there.

I'm with you here, it's not limited to in the air though. I had it happen to me in the lounge once, I was wearing light coloured trousers and had to walk out with a big white splodge on my crotch, not a good look if you're a man.

I agree the taps on 747's splash terribly.
The toilets on these aircraft have recently been refurbished and it is the new taps that cause the problem. The old taps were fine and had more of a flow, whereas the new ones have a spray which does go everywhere.
I am not sure if it is because of a water saving fitting. I notice in some hotels a similar annoying affect when they have those spray fittings to save water.

Is this going to be the most quoted post on this thread ?.......
Now I've wiped the tears from my eyes (yes it made me laugh that much !) - how is the hand lotion for you gents ? Or have you given up by then. (I'm assuming the complaint being that the front of ones trousers gets soaked - not trying to assume only men have trouble with the taps)
I instinctively seem to stand to one side (as much as one can) when turning taps on in an aircraft - maybe there's a suppressed soaking in the past !
