Myself and my partner have booked to fly out to Lanzarote in September next year, imagine the delight, followed by total confusion when faced with the following:
Save £ 60.00 by upgrading both flights for a total cost of £ 183.05 (per adult)
Wow, bargain! A TOTAL cost of £183.05? Sign me up! Let's go to the summary page.
Breakdown of the cost of upgrade:
£255 additional fare per person (wait, what happened to the £183?!)
£60 additional fees, charges and surcharges per person (you kept that quiet)
£21 additional taxes (and that)
Cost per person: £336 (that's not the total you gave me on the last screen)
Total cost of upgrade: £672.00. (Ok, come on BA, I'm not flying with Ryanair and paying with a debit card!)
My maths isn't great, but that doesn't add up to me.

Well - I'm sorry to say this, but there is nothing misleading at all about this statement. Let me break it down for you:
1. 'Save £60 by upgrading both flights..." - this refers to the outbound and the inbound flight. The saving stems from the fact that you would presumably have to pay a £60 charge for making a change to your tickets, so it would be £120 if you upgraded your inbound and outbound separately. Hence, by upgrading both at the same time, you're only making a change to your booking once. £60 saved.
2. "for a total coast of 183.05 (per adult)." - this means that the total cost of upgrading both flights (ie. outbound and inbound) is £183.05 PER ADULT...
2. "for a total coast of 183.05 (per adult)." - this means that the total cost of upgrading both flights (ie. outbound and inbound) is £183.05 PER ADULT...
if it is as posted, it has stated to upgrade both flights for a total of 183.05. Given that the total cost per person is 366.10, I would say that it is misleading

I don't see the logic on that. Since the ticket has not yet been purchased, there is no change fee saving since there is no change to make

Seems pretty misleading to me. Sure, I understand the £60 saving, although mixing per booking figures with per person figures in the same sentence is a bit poor. More significantly I struggle to square "upgrade both flights for a total cost of £183 per adult" with an actual total cost per adult of £336. Surely a statement that is almost certain to disappoint the customer at best.
I get that it's per person, I highlighted that in my original post, but on one page quoting £183 per adult, and on the next £255 per adult is very misleading. That's in addition to chucking on the extra fees. My gripe here is that the very first price it gives is quoted as being the total (per adult).

Sorry - I hadn't properly woken up yet, and misread your post...
Apologies.

If that saving is purely down to the upgrade fee, then it is implied that that fee is included in the total.
Outbound, "£126.49 per adult to upgrade to Club Europe on this flight"
Return, "£116.56 per adult to upgrade to Club Europe on this flight"
Total, £243.05 so the £60 saving is being applied to that total.
It's also probably worth mentioning that 2 new CE tickets on the same flights can be bought for £677, so asking for £672 ontop of what has already been paid for the ET tickets is simply ridiculous.
Sounds like this is during booking, so you are paying ET price plus 183 per person = £672 all in (rather than 300 for the ET price), rather that 672 + original ET price.

I should have said, I'm the partner in question in the opening post. We are already booked on the flights in Euro Traveler. This £672 upgrade is on top of what has already been paid.
Keep trying the link. Via MMB when logged out of BAEC, via the EC page etc.
My parents were offered a £125pp Y-W upgrade a while back. When clicking through it changed to £300 odd pp. In the end I worked out that it was achievable by clicking through in the right way (The payment failed first time so I had to go in again and only the same route worked). Using the wrong route lead to a fare difference upgrade.
