Must admit that I've never seen so many pieces of Tumi luggage in my life.
Totally lacking in any atmosphere what with pretty much everyone except me being a businessman jn a suit.
Quite interesting the way they've split it into lounge into 3 parts although they've don't all have a coffee machine and there are a couple of odd junk good differences.
Did want to get a few photos but they've just delayed the Heathrow flight until 8:15pm at least so a few too many people about.
Easy to find as well.
Will be writing a trip report about this and hopefully Jersey tomorrow.
The AMS lounge's redeeming feature is large windows with a view over the airfield but not the runway, it is also a long long walk to the BA gates. I agree it lacks atmosphere, but with 3 sections its usually quite easy to find a quite area. The bar is good, but it is usually lacking in the food, and reading matter departments! Hope your flight isn't further delayed... I've spent far too long at AMS in the past!
Must admit that some lovely woman in business attire did pop in shortly after I wrote the first post and now future ex wife is sitting near me
Man on the desk is chatty so at least there's some brevity in here.
Now being depressed by the rain pouring down on the roof outside, the news and hoping they don't go and cancel my flight due to the high winds

At the risk of being flamed here - Whats wrong with Tumi luggage? I use it and its wonderful, doesn't break and great service when you check it in and the zip gets broken by the baggage handlers.
Tumi seems quite popular over in the luggage forums although some negatives regarding the build and warranty now. Nice but seriously overpriced -one leather piece at nearly €1000 here with a couple of bits of T-Tech at 175 which is more reasonable.
Just tend to keep an eye out for things I read about travel wise and do check out peoples' luggage.

Not to forget the constant sound track of rainwater trickling along the drainage pipes. BA paid good money for this mood enhansing effect in its Terraces lounges back in the 90s.

Absolutely nothing wrong with Tumi at all accepting it is the BMW 318d of the luggage world
Aww I love this lounge - it's normally quiet (and after the weekends we spend in Utrecht) a lovely oasis before the final knockings of a non stop 40+hours.
If you can find them, you should try the circular 'sultana sponge cakes' quite sweet and dry but lovely dunked in coffee !
I agree with the schlep to the gates - way too long, and the security screening is in a typically inconvenient place - must cost AMS a fortune to run all those machines !!!

One of the reasons I'm not too bothered about whether I get back to Silver after being Bronze is the unimpressive AMS lounge and the long walk to the gates. Even if I had lounge access, if the flight was on time, I'd be tempted to ignore it and just head straight to the gates.
