WTP will be offered and fares loaded soon.
This is not a long term change.

Beirut going 10x/week from 31 March.
New flights
BA153 LHR-BEY 2-4-7 (20:05-02:45+1)
BA152 BEY-LHR 1-3-5 (14:00-17:05)
Not so good on the overnight outbound, heavenly return (not forced to do the 06:15 now!). Nice to see capacity increase.
I guess this is the TBS/ALA A321.

The BEY capacity increase was expected as it is large market with bmi serving it with their A330, BA should do even better with connections to NCE,JFK,GRU,EZE,YUL,LYS etc.
Maybe BA now serving AMM and BEY with a decent frequency could see the return of the DTW flight, apparently there are many Jordanians and Lebanese people there.

I was semi-expecting BEY to go up at some point seeing as bmi has been operating it for 2-3 years 10-11x/week (A320/A321 though, not A330).
The retiming of BEY-LHR currently at 09:30, from summer at 06:15 is without doubt for better connections to the rest of the network (nothing much of interest after 13:50 ex-T1 and 14:20 ex-T5!).
BEY-xxx tends to be funnelled through CDG on ME/AF (consensus here is that those are the only airlines you can use to travel anywhere, along with EK/EY/QR going East...). But BA seem to be doing a pretty good (and competitive) job.
Many, many Lebanese and Jordanian people in DTW - but I don't see BA returning just for those 'few' - RJ has a flight DTW-YUL-AMM. I don't see enough pax IMO, but that's just a guess!

As I understand it, the DTW flight was pulled because the carmakers all had to reign it in big time a few years back. I believe in the early 1990's the BA flight also went via YUL, then became nonstop (I used it in '98), then was pulled altogether maybe a decade back! Connecting VFR traffic isn't going to cut it!
