Ever wondered what life at the pointy end is like?

One of the reasons I will never step foot on a certain LoCo airline.

Ouch. And I thought Ryanair were just mean to their passengers.

I've often wondered how the first flight out can be delayed...now I know.

It's that and a few other comments that make me really struggle to have any sympathy for him at all.

Would he rather be un-employed? Seems so, if he is making his employer come across in a bad light...

I agree, he sounds like a total pain in the backside.

There's being challenged, and there's being challenged rudely.

Manners cost nothing. Even in airports.

I'm sure BAA will find a way to charge for it sooner rather than later

Good read, but I'm not sure what to make of it.

All pilots do not end up flying for a major world class airline and newly qualified, self financed FO's will take their first job in the first LHS they are offered.

I do believe that this represents the life and times of a LCC Captain, but if he/she has enough hours and experience to gain a Command they should have the common sense to realize that the SOP's of the airline that employs them may not meet their expectations.

It is a sad story of highly trained crew not having the support of their company, it is just all about moving aircraft and PAX from place to place on time at the possible cost to airline.

If a Captain says it is not safe, it is not safe. Full stop.

Me neither but I'm sure pilots even with major airlines are capable of moaning as well.

I think it just reflects how the airline industry works today....cutbacks, cost-cutting which have made the life of the airline pilot not as cushy as it used to be.....ditto for cabin crew and every other airline employee I imagine. As long as it's legal then they just have to accept it I suppose.

He does seem a bit of a whinge-bag to be honest. We all have problems in our jobs from time to time.

Driving a bus is no different.

If he cannot cope or does not like it, he can always leave the company.

Funny guy. I guess space shuttle pilots should be renamed 'mega bus' drivers.

Don't be ridiculous......bus drivers get paid more. Well maybe not but some train drivers probably do.

Which is all quite worrying.
