is laughable. Maybe the innovation in the last decade has been lacking, but what he did back in the day was phenomenal. Unlike Ryanair who have lead the race to the bottom, VS at least can be credited for forcing others (including BA) to up their game.
It's rather unprofessional and silly child playground stuff (I probably shouldn't admit that I behaved rather schoolgirlish and giggled at "knee in the groin" bit ).

Its not the words you would expect to hear from a CEO of a major international company.
I have lost a bit of respect for WW over this. I was always a big fan of his when I was at BA, but he looking very stupid at the moment. BA PR dept must be in meltdown at the mo!
In fairness, he's inviting Branson to voluntarily accept "violence". They're both consenting adults...

I dunno, the story is the most popular on the BBC at the moment, just in time for the nation's lunchtime browsing. There's no such thing as bad publicity.*

Spot on. I firmly believe that without VS, we'd be stuck with an overly dominant BA, and probably still have wedgie seats in business class like LH/AF (who don't have the same competition) do.
For some reason Airline ceo's need to be in the public eye. Mnay people can name O'leary, Branson and Willie. However they cant name the CEo of the company that delivers their water every day. The two of them have never been very happy. With many different rows taking place. This is just another one, which will be over by Christmas. Especially as it might be warmer (no snow) however windy next week. So not much issues at LHR!
WW is having a go at everyone at the moment. I dont think he is happy with the situation in Europe.

True that is the airline. But how much did Branson do or was it the management team. I dont know how things are doing the past few years. Some bad reports have been about.
I am really worried that WW is correct. My reading last week was the brand is going from aviation. With the loss of two independant airlines this year would not be good.

At the personal level I understand there is a great deal of mutual respect between WW and MO'L - MO'L was very supportive after G-YMMM crashed at Heathrow.
WW has a point about MO'L; Ryanair is very good on customer expectations - don't have any.
SRB tends to moan all the time - whether its train franchsies, lottery bids or BMI takeover...
Whatever your feelings about SRB, he does have a habit of getting his timing right:
He got out of records and retail just as the market collapsed (remember Virgin Megastores? - where are Zavvi now?
He got into media just as competition widened and allowed use of faster infastructure - no spending millions on networks or satellites for him.
He's got into banking at what (hopefully) is the bottom of the market.
If SRB is no longer the 51% owner of VS within 5 years, I suspect it will be his choice, and quite possibly the right time to get out of aviation.
WW says SRB has contributed nothing to the industry.
Didn't he effectively "invent" premium economy? Realistically, this was just an upsell - those who flew J went straight into J on VS which has, effectively become F, and W has been neatly slotted in between. W now is pretty much what J was 20 odd years ago. Surely all airline with W have improved J and upsold their entire J customer base to higher priced tickets.
