The state of BA 0965 from Hamburg today

We just got back from Hamburg earlier on today, We had reserved seats 1D & F and were a wee bit miffed to find we had been moved by the seat shifters.

Seemed the whole cabin got shifted around and here is why

Seems the whole of row 1 and 2 were out of action because of this

and a view from row 4 where we eventually got seated

Oh dear, that's not good.

To be honest though I'm surprised they didn't take the opportunity to sell it as a seat with extra leg room!

Could be sold as a leg rest extension for the seat behind it

You know, having a seat in such a decrepit condition in clear view of all customers bothers me, irrespective of the row and row immediately aft being blocked. I appreciate the alternative, which I suppose was taking the aircraft out of service wouldn't have been popular for either the passengers or crew. But still, in my humble opinion customers should never see this.

+1

I couldn't agree more. BA should not have operated the aircraft in that condition.

If I was a "normal" punter and saw the condition of this seat, what impression does it give off? Engines being held on by duck tape and the wings by No More Nails?

Very poor BA.

duct tape

I think i'd rather get home though, than have to be rebooked because of the aesthetics of a broken seat.

Because a photo like this can help destroy a corporate image. This was in a CE Cabin. There are threads every day on this forum about how BA are not up to par with other Worldwide carriers vs. their CE Equivalent Products - this does nothing to help, and only ads to the fuel.

This is not the image a major worldwide airline should be showing. It says a lot more than 'broken seat' to me.

Very poor of BA.

Duck tape!

Quality stuff and much better than generic non branded duct tape!

Trust me on this, I use it regularly so I know!

I have to agree with you there, it wouldn't bother me in the slightest and I never choose row 1 anyway because of the wall in front!
