We have booked 4 WTP seats for a flight next Wednesday.
I am only BA bronze but received a mail that I can select seats as it's now only a week until we fly.
But when I go into MMB to do this, it shows only 3 seats available - and there are 4 of us!
Does this mean there really are only 3? Or are the bulk heads reserved for later?
Are we are likely to get bumped off this flight?
We have been trying to upgrade to business but no reward flights are available - I've been checking daily!
WTP will probably be oversold. Most likely the will upgrade (or hope someone pays to upgrade from WTP-CW) one person (or however many it is oversold by).
As you have a booking for 4 people, its unlikely that would be you as they wouldn't upgrade part of your group.
At worst, you would be downgraded to economy and compensated.
Thank you - I really hope we are not downgraded as we would prefer to use miles to upgrade... When is the latest time before the flight that you can upgrade? Can you do so with miles at the airport?
If we are to be downgraded, can they split our booking, or would we all get downgraded, and what is the likely compensation?
Thank you for your help

Using avios up to 24hrs before, but you'd have to upgrade your whole party and 4 reward seats being available is unlikely. At checkin you could ask to pay to upgrade all to CW.
I think its unlikely you would get downgraded, but compensation would depend on the route.

There are currently 3 blocked seats, in addition 3 empty seats in WTP, but they are still selling WTP tickets as well as CW seats, albeit at the higher cost end. So I really don't think you'll be downgraded, and there's a good chance that some passengers will be upgraded for free. A group of 4 is unlikely to get a free offer - single passengers are more likely to benefit, but I guess there's no harm getting to LGW early and asking for the Airport Upgrade Promotion cost.

Enjoy the flight, I did it a few weeks back.
If you need any help/info on Florida then pm me, I've been over there a lot so know how it works
If you have kids then take something to entertain them in the immigration queue as that can take a while! Also, don't put your bags on the conveyor belt for the second bag drop at MCO (just after immigration and first set of bag carousels). It can take ages to get your bags back!!!

Especially if there are young children in the group. All 4 of us did get upgraded from Y to J (pre-WT+) LHR-MCT once; our kids would have been about 18 and 15 at the time.
Thank you. We will be quite happy if we get our 4 WT+ seats close together - but the children are 16 and 14 so not a huge problem if we're split up within the cabin.
Would be great if we could upgrade with Avios, but I know it's unlikely there will be 4 seats...got them for the return though
And last year all 4 of us got upgraded to club as we boarded to JFK, so I guess we've had our luck - shouldn't complain!
The children have US passports, so we usually get them to take us with them through the shorter US passport queue!
But I don't know what the 2 baggage carousels refered to are??
