TP's to Sydney
Hi all,
Confused about this - ba.com says 360 each way for F
I know that if I split the journey (BA 11 then 15 or vice versa) it's 210 + 240, making 900 for the round trip. When the two flights are virtually at the same time it seems barmy to treat them so differently.
Also, would people recommend doing a leg on the QF A380 in F to compare - few less miles but hey ho?

Although have not tried QF F on the A380, from the vast majority of posts, people recommending QF F over BA F. You can get the same number of airmiles if you book it with a BA codeshare (ie, BA prefix rather than a QF prefix).
Correct re: tier points, if you have booked it as two tickets rather than one, then you get the points for each sector (LHR-SIN-SYD) rather than a single ticket (LHR-SYD). If you go to another Aussie city, then you get the points for each sector, eg, LHR-SIN-MEL.

You can actually get the 240+210 points even on the same booking. Just book the flight separately. Did this in Aug. BA down to SIN and QF A380 from SIN-SYD. Can recommend the A380 on QF.
Now, if you had a choice of any airline who would it be for F on this route?
Just seen SQ comes in at cheaper than BA on an A380 all the way.
Tricky, as I could do with the TP's & Avios.
SQ certainly gets good reviews, but it depends how much you need want those TPs. If SQ are coming in cheaper then I would go for that (and sign up to the right *A scheme and you'll be pretty much insta-Gold, if not SEN).

If you fly the A380 QF in F as long as its booked under the BA flight number BA will treat it as a BA flight for tier points and avios accrual.

If you have checked bags but book 2 flights, can you still check them through to London? And is the stopover long enough to make sure your bags switch planes?

When I did it like that, it was in 2009, and it was checked all the way through to London on the same plane, two tickets, two bookings, but the luggage probably stayed on the plane.
I'm not sure if you can do a BA16 exSYD and then change to a BA12, the latter departing 20mins earlier than BA16 exSIN departure.
