Standing at the top of the stairs this morning waiting to disembark, my phone received a text message from BA for a quick survey on the flight I had just taken - just three questions and a follow-up. I asked the crew who said it is a new trial to get quick, directed feedback.
I took the opportunity to praise the crew, and mention the extremely tatty state of the plane and broken armrest @62A

I can't stand those text surveys, I get one every time I call T-Mobile.

I've had a similar text survey one, but asking about the check-in and in the airport experience that day, 3 or 4 questions. Got it while I was in the lounge.
It's just on certain longhaul routes at the moment.
Thought it was a good idea - very quick and gave me the chance to make my point easily. All done before BAA had finished fannying around with the jet bridge....

I find them very annoying.
I had a nice one the other day from my credit card (yes, it was really from them). The first question was "do you mind doing a quick survey?" with the kicker "replies to this message are charged at 50p per message, plus your standard rate".

Cheeky, cheeky monkeys.
For everyone's benefit, please NAME AND SHAME THAT CARD.
I'm getting severely ticked off by companies who pull that sort of stunt, including those airlines with PAYG telephone numbers

It could be that for the ground experience it is being done for all flights or maybe just different flights to the onboard experience questions.
For the onboard experience, at the moment, it is just a selection of longhaul flights.
I am rather surprised that you have received two in one month as when the company that run this, came to meet the crew a month or so ago, I specifically asked how often people would receive these messages. The answer I was given was that once someone had been sent one, it would be a few months before the system would allow another message. I asked the question because I thought that this kind of enquiry might upset people if they receive them too often.
Did you reply to yours, out of interest?
