Boeing 787 Seatplan

Hello Fellow FT'ers,

Well, although I know it's still not yet been announced by BA, below is what they're expecting the Boeing 787 Dreamliner seatplan to be. Sorry it's rather small.

As you can see the configuration is :

Slightly more that the original expected configuration!

Interesting, and presumably there will be a shorthaul configured version too with convertible seats for CE?

Boeing 787 Seatplan

Interesting seat plan, especially CW 2 3 2 configuration, I presume the 787 is wider than the 767. Also are the CW seats the NGCW seats or are they specials for the 787?

TCX69 - thanks for this, seems to be the upper deck CW A380 layout which makes me think in the body of the 787 may feel a little cramped? Look forward to finding out in person one day though.

Configuration looks very similar to the 3-class 777s and capacity wise, it slots right between the 777 and 767.

Looks like we'll a good candidate for us here in YUL, replacing the 767 during the winter.

You may feel tight. But in numeric terms, you should not notice any difference of the seats rather than the aisle seems to be narrower.

Not that I am aware of. I don't believe there are any plans to deploy the 787 on European flights. They ultimately want an "All Airbus" European fleet, but I suppose things could change.

Loos? Yes, seems like quite a small number for the volume of pax.

According to the font of all knowledge (Wikipedia), the 787 cabin is 16in narrower than the 777. Therefore the aisles and the seats must be narrower to support a 3-3-3 config. I guess the only other configuration they could have gone with is a 2-4-2, but that would have considerably less capacity.

WT+ should be also a great improvement over the 777 and 744

I think the WT cabin with 9 across is going to be very similar to the Emirates 777 with 10 across. In a word TIGHT ! I wonder if the pitch will be a bit more generous than the competition to make up for it.

I hope BA doesn't decide that 10 across is a good idea for the 777 after this.

Comparing with other airlines (even JAL and ANA both have only 8 abreast on the 787). Only United and Thomson (charters) has so far published a 9 across plan for the aircraft.

Also means the big "sell" of extra hand baggage space was based on 8 across, so presumably this will reduce the amount of space per person on a 9 across config.

Very disappointed.
