Lounge Access

I am flying MAN-LHR-DEL-LHR-MAN in January. I booked WT+ but upgraded to CW using my Avios. MMB says that I am only eligible for lounge access on the domestic sectors and not on the LHR-DEL and DEL-LHR sectors. Is this correct?

I thought any CW ticket allows your lounge access, regardless of whether it was an upgrade or not?

Sorry I cant copy the image from MMB, but here's the text:

Lounge details relating to your booking

Flight BA1385 to London on Fri 11 Jan 2013 07:20

Dont worry about it, if you're in club world you've got lounge access.

Thanks BugALugs,

Thats what I thought, but it was strange to see it written down. I also phoned BAEC who told me the same thing - because it's an upgrade using AVIOS you're not eligible.

I am in the same shoes... but my ticket which was upgraded is actually for a return from HKG lol... And I don't think BA has a dedicated lounge there...

MMB is reflecting your wt+ booking for lounges and not the upgraded CW.

You have lounge access throughout your entire journey.

I have also had this experience with MMB after using UUA.

MarkAHowarth, don't worry about it. You will definitely get lounge access!

Lounge Access

It's the same as when your aircraft type changes- the seat map changes to show the new type but MMB still displays the original type.
MMB is showing lounge access for the original booking which gives lounge access in the domestic sectors only as WT+books into full fare on domestic connections. MMB just hasn't updated as it should.

The advice you have been given (on flyertalk) is correct, but it is worrying that BAEC seems to be as clueless as LHR lounge staff about access rules. Given that you have been advised incorrectly by BAEC, I would recommend that you insist on written confirmation of lounge access before travel.

Since you have some time before your travel dates, you could write to BAEC and also send a private message on this forum to BA Executive Club alerting her to the fact that BAEC is giving out misleading information.

Lounge Access

I wouldn't bother flagging this up. Your Club boarding pass will gain you automatic entry to the lounge, once it is scanned by the lounge agent.

That is a truly shocking response from the phone agent

Question,

If I've got Club tickets ex LHR then buy separate tickets GLA - LHR - GLA do I get in the lounge at GLA if connecting onto Club at LHR and vice versa at LHR on the way back?

Yet not entirely unsurprisingly somehow given my recent experience with the call centre.

Hi,

Yes you do ( when coming back into LHR in club prior to your GLA flight , keep a hold of your CW boarding pass)

Regards

Sorry, lounge information is not available for this flight. This could be because you are not eligible for lounge access.
it says "no information available" and "this could be..." it does not say "you are not allowed"

(and yes, the phone Agent is a shame if he/she really gave you that information)
