I flew back from Boston on Monday night and the BA flights, i was on BA214 were both absolutely full. I was upgraded to WT+ because (i guess) WT was oversold. I wonder what the compensation would have been if i decided to give up my seat? Is it cash and/or a return ticket in the future with a night in a hotel and a seat on the next available flight? What is the current situation?
Anyway, first time in the BA lounge in Boston and I found it quite small and basic compared with others in North America i've used the past few months (LAX, Vancouver, JFK). I was in the BA lounge early because of a connecting flight from Oklahoma (via Dallas) and after a few minutes, saw something scurrying across the floor, i thought it was my imagination. It happened a couple more times and finally i got a good glimpse, definitely a mouse. I thought the woman employed by BA at the front desk of the lounge would like to know about the little mouse guest. She told me she would look into it and seemed like she could not be less bothered. As far as I know she did not act on it.
The mouse kept me company continuing to scamper around the lounge and perhaps the Club dining area and the connecting kitchen. I don't know what happened to it in the end. Has anyone else had a mouse visitor in a BA lounge? Is it a regular in the Boston lounge? This isn't a rant which is why i didn't put it in the main rant thread.
The flight back to LHR was very quick 5 hours 50 minutes, way too short to get any sleep for me especially when you are upgraded and slotted in the middle four. I usually take a window seat overnight but these had been pre-booked in WT+.
I was impressed with the new WT+ IFE AVOD, is this new service being rolled out throughout BA and in Club and WT as well? The bigger displays are very welcome. I didn't think the sensitivity of the touch displays was up to standard. Perhaps it was just me getting used to a new system for the first time.
I was sat next to an American gentleman of elder age and he was complaining so much while we were on the ground before take off. He was bothering the flight attendants with constant small requests and since the flight was absolutely full and attempting to get away on time they were very busy. If he wanted to constantly request the stuff he wanted he should have paid for a Club class ticket. Fortunately he slept almost all the flight.
Looking forward to BA's mobile app being updated to include Passbook features for iOS. I used the AA app in the U.S. on seven domestic flights and found the boarding pass on the lock screen very useful and time saving.

I think they very rarely have to do an involuntary offload. If you'd declined the upgrade then they'd surely have found others willing to take it.
As for the Boston mouse, I seem to recall a couple of threads about that on here. All blamed on the construction work IIRC.

People like that get on my goat. They think the world revolves around them alone and don't give a hoot for any fellow passenger needs. I'd have lost my cool and told the old fool to shut up.

1. Old Americans can be very scary. Fortunately Old Brits are really quite charming.
2. Cleaning is a solution to most small rodent problems. Unfortunately, The Cat likes to bring her prey indoors to play when the weather is poor. We thus have to (a) catch and relocate the little offender, and (b) clean those little traces that say "Oh, sh***t". Fortunately we have mainly hard flooring!

We have the same problem. At the rate ours bring them in there must be a breeding frenzy going on somewhere locally (they are field mice, though)

Be grateful - the OH's sister has a large 'boy' who drags rabbits and ducks through the cat-flap, and then devours them by her bed.
"Oh, my slippers are warm and wet"
At least we just play "Hunt the Vole/Field Mouse" with a small fishing-net [very effective with practice]. I can now get them to jump [and they can really jump] straight into the net, on a good day!

A small fishing net - what a great idea - must get one.

Assuming its the usual wire frame type, bend the front edge to become a flat scoop. We got a handful when a local supermarket closed for 59p - try a local Pound Shop, or a garden centre. They're seasonal products, of course. Happy hunting
