Gone from Brown to Grey
Finally made it to the shiny grey card from the dirty brown one. So now I have it, what's the greatest benefit in your opinion?

I suspect this one may be bogus, tend to agree about the mileage bonus though, seems as good as gold (don't tell anyone)

I've been gold for some time now. I yet to discern any significant difference between gold and silver whatsoever.

Increased chance of op-up?
Have seen a few posts saying people got one on the next flight they took after reaching silver, not sure if that is just coincidence.

Unlikely in my case, my next one is a domestic from LBA.

You get 100% more scraped off each time than with your old card.

I reckon I was upgraded about one in every 4 flights as a blue, since turning Silver, I've not had a single one in 10 flights or so! So in my experience they stop giving them to you when you turn Silver!
This w/e will be an interesting one as Im sitting in what was already a very busy WT+ cabin, and its just been reduced from 5 rows to 3, so if I don't get upgraded here I very much suspect I have been overlooked for some non Silvers!
In my experience of being Silver for just over a year, lounge access in the big thing, when not in CW or higher. If you're a Club or above flyer, the main benefit of Silver is obviously the mile bonus, which makes a massive difference to your Avios levels

You can't do that, it's non-transferable. You'll have your new status revoked. OK, I'll drop the silly analogy now.

Not correct. Just put your chauffeur into your HHA.
My upgrade hot rate went up when I hit silver, but has dropped somewhat since becoming gold. I honestly think its just the luck of the draw though.
