It looks like I can fly from HKG to LHR via AMM with a stop in BKK and net 320 tier points - seems to good to be true though! Has anyone done this. Could then just take a few cheap BA metal flights to qualify. If that's true seems defo worth the two stops!
You have to have a separate ticket for the HK-BKK leg to make this work, so probably need to stopover.
That said, I'm not sure Bronze is worth getting excited about.
RJ used to have some very cheap fares from Paris. A better plan would be to get one of these (560 TPs), fly to Paris & back on BA and make another cheap BA round trip, giving you I reckon 600tps and 4 qualifying flights for Silver.

I would suggest it only worth doing if it is on the way to a silver card. Bronze really is pretty pointless.

I agree. Although I'm unlikely to be anything other than Blue/Bronze for a while (despite 9 OW flights coming up in the next 8 weeks). I only seem to fly redemption or short haul.

While I certainly wouldst go out of my way to earn it and certainly wouldn't spend more than I was going to anyway, it does have a couple of handy benefits like Club check in and more importantly choice of seat 7 days out.

Seat selection is useful - but Club Check in isnt really a benefit in reality (The queue there is often just as long)

This may be true at T5 LHR but at outstations club checkin makes a huge difference.

Don't get me wrong, I would rather be a brownie than blue, but I wouldn't break my back to get it, the 7 day seat selection is the only real perk. I avoid checking baggage at all costs so club check in doesn't matter and 25% avios bonus is pretty meh.
agree Bronze isn't all that great - but it does mean you are halfway to silver, with more or less one flight in this case!
But unless I'm missing something, unless you're 1) planning to pick up another 300TPs and 2) make a bunch of flights in Y where the status will actually be worth something, the whole idea of going for Bronze is moot. Instead you can just ignore loyalty and focus on getting cheap flights which whichever carrier suits.....
