Never seen it as busy before. Staff struggling to clear off tables. Very hard to find a seat during lunch in the dining area. Looks like most seats are taken in the relaxing areas also. Terrace busy.
Positives: Spicy Pork Soup delivered in minutes + Curry. Others had to wait longer I could see. Wines have picked up somewhat from last visit about a month ago.
GF was always for the first 4 years pretty calm. Is this the result of IB flights moving over and the DC integration? Would not even want to think what it is like upstairs in the Club.

Most likely due to the integration of DC ?

This is exactly how I described it a few days ago in another thread. I was told I was wrong and that I was exaggerating! If you were to go upstairs you would find it too is busy but not much more so that the Flounge.
Never had a problem getting a seat anywhere in T5 GF, no matter the time of day.
However, I am viewing this as karma for my T5B lounge experiences - FlyerTalk assured me that it would be an oasis of calm and zen as hardly anyone goes over there. Well every time I've been over there, it's been standing room only at the very best with some sort of scrum going on near the food and wine.
Therefore I shall take my perfectly fine GF experiences and say nerr nee nerr nee nerr nerr to you all (Thus ensuring my next GF trip is now a nightmare of course)
On a vaguely related point presumably this is also the reason why it takes 15 minutes from leaving the M25 to getting to the roundabout at T5 first thing each Monday morning? Back in May/June time that same distance could be covered in less than a minute.
First thing in the morning this road is busier due to a lots of staff coming in for their shift.
No doubt true, but it's the fact that it's much busier now than it was in May/June that I am apportioning to the merger. The staff volumes have probably also increased as a result too, but it depends where T5 staff park as to whether they are contributing to the change.

Maybe, I don't know where the ex bmi ground staff park, we haven't been told if the ex cabin crew park in the same place as us, I doubt it as the carpark was full before bmi.

You would have struggled a couple of weeks ago when it was a bit misty over Heathrow. The Flounge was packed from 11am til 3pm, which is when I was there waiting for a flight to Copenhagen. There were a lot of flights going nowhere and T5 was generally busier than I have seen it.
Also, given that there are now a lot of extra gold card holders, it is not surprising that the Flounge is more crowded than it used to be. Conversely, the mammoth T1 lounge is always deserted whenever I have been there.
