Trying to check in and print a boarding pass for a flight to the US tomorrow and it is saying:
"Sorry, we are unable to print your boarding pass at the moment because we cannot verify the status of your Esta application with US immigration.
The authorisation is normally granted immediately, but may take up to 72 hours."
I have an ESTA (in fact I was in the States less than a month ago) and I confirmed this during OLCI . Should I be concerned/anything I should do?
Also as i found out recently, it applies to a particular passport number, so if you renew your passport you need a new ESTA even if it has not run its course!
Try applying for a new ESTA. If you have a valid ESTA, the site would tell you that you already have a valid ESTA. If it allows you to get a new one, then you indeed need a new ESTA. Something must have gone wrong with the details they have. from your standpoint, either way you will be able to get into the US - your objective.

Do you have an "odd" booking, like an open jaw?
I had an issue with a booking like that, with a mixed BA and AA itinerary and an open jaw, and my booking got flagged in some way that prevented me both using OLCI and the kiosks at LHR. I had to visit the customer service desks and they looked puzzled and "cleared the flag". Didn't stop me getting the full bag empty and pat down search at the gate, unfortunately.

Please try not to worry but I would certainly recommend getting to the airport as early as possible to resolve any issues.
We have people come to the airport without an ESTA and do all we can to assist them. Make sure you let the agent know you're having problems but everything appears to be fine from your end. They can then check to see what's causing the problem from BA's end.
Airport Managers have iPads which they use to sort out any ESTA problems with the passenger, though obviously we'd all prefer everything to be sorted before you arrive at the airport ...... for your sake.

Have you updated the ESTA with the new dates/port of entry/address in the US? I update mine every time I enter - not sure if it's a requirement though. (Although I would have thought so)
You should be able to do this online through the US Homeland security site using the 'update' option - https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/esta/

It is recommended that you update your ESTA with details of your new trip but it is not compulsory - afterall they will have your flight number and accommodation details etc from your APIS.
I have both updated and not updated my ESTA and it made no difference to my being allowed to check-in and fly.
Have you ever been at the airport when we're dealing with an ESTA query?
As I have never been a BA staff member, I don't know what it is they do when they're "dealing with" an ESTA query, or pretending to do so, blaming DHS or IT and going back to chatting/hanging around.
For a relative of mine(dual US/UK national) BA messed up and required an ESTA - once again, they should get their act together.
